drowninginflame
I still love Shingo, it totally sucks his control is garbage this season, or I should say so far. But he did a better job than normal tonight.
Kalapse
Singo looked good. I still think it would be best for him to go down to Charlotte and pitch a little more regularly so he can get his control back though.
EvilJester99
Shingo really needs to iron out his release point....it probably wouldn't hurt to send him to Charlotte for a week or two and let him work on it there....just to make sure he gets some constant work. Jordan4life_2007
If/when Shingo gets back to his 2004 level, will have the absolute sickest pen in the american league.
nvxplorer
Shingo may be suffering from the sophomore jinx. I know it's a myth, but it does seem to effect many players.
sayitaintso
QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) Shingo may be suffering from the sophomore jinx. kev211
If shingo can get back to his 2004 point then we would have an unbelivable pen. Cotts, Pollite, Hermanson, Shingo, Marte. I agree he should be sent down to charlotte to get his controll back. Edited June 7, 2005 by ScottPodRulez22

DBAHO
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) If/when Shingo gets back to his 2004 level, will have the absolute sickest pen in the american league. I'd still take the Twins bullpen over ours even if that did happen.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) I'd still take the Twins bullpen over ours even if that did happen. It's close. It will also be nice to see Luis pitch like he can. I think that definitely puts us over the top.
kapkomet
Shingo was effective tonight because he faced NL batters. They don't know him nor do they scout him like the AL. Let him pitch his ass off this week to get his confidence back... and wallah, we have an effective Shingo again (we hope).
DBAHO
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) It's close. It will also be nice to see Luis pitch like he can. I think that definitely puts us over the top. I'd just put more faith into a Crain or Rincon / Nathan combo going into the last 2 innings, than a Politte / Hermanson combo. Cliff and Dustin have pitched absolutely great so far, but they're bound to come down at some stage, as evidence by Dustin's last few outings. sayitaintso
I have been worried to if Dustin is starting to comeback to earth lately, not saying he's doing a bad job, it just seems he's not as unhittable as he was before.

Well, going by that same logic, I don't see Crain mantaining a 0.76 era all year, or Rincon sporting an era under 2 I believe? Nathan is obviously solid. DBAHO
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) Well, going by that same logic, I don't see Crain mantaining a 0.76 era all year, or Rincon sporting an era under 2 I believe? Nathan is obviously solid. The thing is, even though Politte has great stuff, I'd rank Crain's a little bit better. He's a future closer for sure. A great luxury for the Twins to have really, showing once again the advantages of developing good young players. I didn't include J.C Romero either. Having 3 setup men with ERA's below 2.5 is just shows how good their bullpen is in the later innings.
