If anyone listens to this show and interview and hears some good clips, please let me know here. Im at work and cannot listen to the interview. Carmen and Silvy are planning on running the tape of Ed Farmer ripping on Phillips, and asking his response. then they plan on having him detail why he thinks the Sox arent very good. Should be some good stuff.

For one time only, I wish i didnt share an office with a hot girl. :banghead

Steve Phillips said the Sox would finish 72-90 two months ago. He hasn't wavered much on his opinion of the team. Let's see if he has the "testicular fortitude" to admit he was wrong. I doubt it.

That will never happen... he will probably say "as much as the Sox are playing over their heads, the Twins are right there with them". :bang

'Ozzie's style has an immediate impact'....but he questions whether it will last when things get tough....

I wonder if signing Mo Vaghn would have an immediate impact also. How did that work for him.

He bases this crap on the fact that he had Valentine as a coach.

What did Farmer say yesterday?  It had to have been good if Carmen and Silvy were talking about it.

AFter he questoined the Sox, Farmer said he should come see the team play before bashing them....or questioning them....and Farmer knocked his GM skills.

He is not coming back on today, rescheduled for tomorrow.

Maybe he realized he was going to take a PR hit and conveniently drove through a tunnel. What an Ass-half.

Now they are suggesting the Sox trade for Jack Wilson and move him to 3rd or put Uribe at 3rd.

Silvy is so funny, he is trying so hard to stay true to his cub roots and bash the Sox, but he just cant. He spent 20 minutes today complaining that Ozuna didnt know the count when he got thrown out and Iguchi didnt know how many outs there were the day before when he failed to turn a double play. Now when he compliments them, he is "throwing them bouquets".

He also is not sold on Uribe, he talked about it for a few minutes.

I would take Jack Wilson and have Uribe move to 3rd.

Me too, Uribe at 3rd would be a lot better than having Crede play everyday.

Plus Wilson gets on base and is a solid hitter who can be relied on.

I also bet KW could probably get Jack Wilson a lot cheaper than going after a few of the others that have been named in trade scenarios...

Last year was a career year for Jack Wilson, I don't think he's going to do it again. And his OBP isn't that good, even last year.

Wilson is having a really bad year. Hitting .237 and a .274 OBP.

In fact his career OBP is only.302

Not really an upgrade.

Mackowiak, on the other hand, is hitting .346 with a.425 OBP

His career is .335 Not great, but better.

Plus he can play all the outfield spots too.

Don't forget he can also play all the infield spots except for SS.

Something happened to Wilson over the offseason. I think he got either a virus, or some sort of surgery that caused him to lose weight and muscle. I dont think it was a sports related injury though.
