Guest JimH
No, he's slugging at a .335 rate. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> His average has dropped about 20 points in the past couple weeks. The good thing is he doesn't strike out much at all even though he K'd tonite. I believe his walk to strikeout ratio is dead even.
Guest JimH
Looks like Sweeney gets the key hit to put the Barons on top in the 10th 6-5. I believe the Barons held on to win but I still see "in progress" on the box. Jenks is shown as having pitched the bottom of the 10th ... Edit: checked it one last time before going to bed, Barons do win, 6-5. Edited June 10, 2005 by JimH
BHAMBARONS
Barons 6 Mobile 5 (10) W-Jenks (1-2) L- Thayer (2-5) The Homerun binge continued with Chris Young, Chris Stewart and Antoin Gray all homering tonight. The winning rally was started by a Ryan Sweeney line drive single to right followed by a sac bunt by Rogo which 3rd baseman Jason Clements tried to nail Sweeney at 2nd threw the ball over the second baseman's head and down the RF line which allowed Ryan to Score. Jenks gave up 2 hard hit balls in the bottom of the 10th but struck out Dustin Delluchi on a 97 MPH heater chin high. Ryan Meaux also came in the 8th to snuff out a Mobile rally by striking out Dustin Delluchi with the bases loaded and 2 down. Barons now have 1st place with a 1 1/2 game lead with 10 to play.
