Guest wsc425
Guys, The Sox could have had runners at first and second in the ninth, but Magglio and Frank were called out on questionable checked swings. Franks was a human reaction while Maggs was protecting himself. Neither went around.

Meaning the pitcher would have had 1 more pitch.
Big Irish
It should never have come down to that against the Tigers.
SweetJfour
Does anybody else realize that the Detroit Tigers, whom have a pathetic record of 22-65 have beaten our beloved Southsiders 4 times this year. That is more than any other team obviously!!! We account for almost 20 percent of their total wins. I find that statistic to be both sickening and pathetic. Why is it that when the White Sox play a team they should easily beat by five or six runs, their bats go to sleep. Cockiness? I should hope not! Any team at or under .500 should be anything but cocky. What this team needs is to treat every game like it is the rubber game of a series. This team now has way too much talent to be dropping games to the Devil Rays and Detroit. I will settle for nothing less than the White Sox going out tonight and tommorrow and putting an all out ass-whopping on those pussycats. If they don't turn it around now, Cleveland whom has been fairly hot lately is going to have a field day with them.

Not tring to make any excuses but if you look at most good teams vs bad teams in any sport the bad team usualy does well. I remember in 2002 when the Lakers were Champs they struggled against a lot of bad teams. Most namely the Bulls who beat them both times they played. So my point is that for some reason good teams lose to bad teams a lot. Just look at the Dodgers and Yankees last night. Both lost to teams that were a lot worse than them, in the Padres and Indians respecfully.
witesoxfan
Most of the time, you are going to lose when you face a pitcher who has his A+ stuff, like Traber did last night. When you can throw a CG 1-hit shutout against the Yankees....you've done something. It's called playing down to the level of your opponent. The Sox get up for big games, and they are too relaxed for games against s*** teams. And you wonder why we've only beaten the Tigers 6 times. We are 6-4 against the Tigers....f***ING PATHETIC. YASNY
Everyone says "this team is too talented........". Well, we've been at or near .500 for two and a half seasons now. I'd say the talent level is well established.

southsider2k5
After winning the first 4 games we played against Detroit, we now have a record of 6-5 against them, including losing 4 of the last 5 games against one of THE WORST TEAMS IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL. Does this team have no shame at all?
Winning Ugly
After winning the first 4 games we played against Detroit, we now have a record of 6-5 against them, including losing 4 of the last 5 games against one of THE WORST TEAMS IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL. Does this team have no shame at all? None whatsoever in my mind. Face it, we made some good moves in acquiring veterans we thought would "push us over the top..." and although they have been doing just fine, the other "usual suspects" we knocked before they arrived just continue to sit back and not produce, hoping someone else will pick it up. Pitiful, this team is.
