LosMediasBlancas
Sorry if there is another thread on this. Basically, these tickets are being sold to the highest bidder, or scalped, right? http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...ions/061505.jsp Edited June 16, 2005 by LosMediasBlancas
FlaSoxxJim
When I got this emailed to me from chisox.com, I assumed the money was going to White Sox Charities, but it sure doesn't seem like it looking at that page. I guess this is the way Cub fans are used to buying tickets and maybe this is just the Sox org's way of making them feel right at home. LosMediasBlancas
Did you see how much the 'bids' are up to? $140.00 for a $30.00 seat, GMAFB!

I'm sure it'll get called out and I would bet high that the additional funds are going to the charities. One thing they can not afford is to be linked to scalping. I know that a lot of ST holders are pissed about this though.. a lot who were told they had passed the deadline to order additional tickets (which they did) feel that they should be offered these first before the public. I bet the season ticket holders wanted to pay just face value for any left overs and the Sox weren't feeling it. Are you sure the money goes to charity? If season ticket holders complain about it now, its their own fault, cause I saw the letters.
LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) No.. and I didn't say I was sure it did. Season ticket holders were given THREE months notice of when they had to get their orders in... 2 letters and several emails. I'd be really, really dissapointed if it's flat out scalping. At those prices, you're almost better off going to a broker. I checked, it's pretty comparable pricing.
shakes
If the extra money doesn't go to charity, this is just as bad as the Cubs scalping their own tickets. In fact, I already have Cub fan friends calling me out on this.

Dick Allen
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) I got several notices about buying extra tickets for the series in the mail. If season ticket holders complain about it now, its their own fault, cause I saw the letters. I got my form for extra tickets, and the form they gave me was wrong. It obviously was for Upper Deck seats, and I checked off the upper deck box and sent it in right away. The price looked wrong to me as it was $25. They wound up charging my credit card $28 per ticket, and gave me upper reserved up in the 17th row of 557. Total BS. My rep, (who is quite possibly the worst rep the Sox have ever had) never contacted me. Of course in the 3 years I've had him as my rep, (after having maybe the best rep the Sox ever had) he has never contacted me. I finally called again and he answered the main season ticket line. I knew it was him, but he had no idea I was his customer. He said they sent out the wrong form, and my rep should have contacted me. He asked for my name to find out who my rep was and when he found out he was my rep, the studdering began. He said I could send them back if I wanted, and that the pricing on the form was wrong. I think since I authorized $25 per ticket even though I checked off the Upper Deck Box, he went with the $28 price because that was closer to what I authorized. So I wind up with the crappiest seats in the house. At least they're extras. It really chaps my ass that they have these new lotteries for tickets and let people buy 8, that are far and above better seats than the tickets my dope of a rep got me. I have asked for a new rep 4 times, and have been given the run around each time.
SoxPhan7
they also have those autographed pics with each set of seats. So if anyone say they are scalping the sox can just say the extra 200 bucks was for that nice autographed 8 x 10 of Timo Perez. I looked everywhere around for it to say anything about charity and there is nothing. This is goin to get ugly i think,
Steff
FYI.. the tickets are $28.. not $25. The form was wrong.

Yes, the form said $25 for UD Box, and I think $21 for UD reserved. I checked off the UD Box which on the bad form was $25, but I think over $30 in reality. I am not pissed at the form being wrong. What makes me mad is this guy charged me more than I authorized for worse seats than I authorized. A simple call would have straightened it all out. When I called back to correct the problem, I was told there were no more available and my only recourse was returning what I had for a full refund. That was what 4 months ago. Now people are buying them 8 at a time. Edited June 16, 2005 by Dick Allen

Why would Friday be more expensive? Hmm.. I've always been told it's double the season seats. We have 4, so we get 8 to things like opening day, Cubs, playoffs (lol).. I don't know why Friday is more expensive (looking at the tickets right now)... that is very weird.
