sayitaintso
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) That's because he didn't know if he wanted to play baseball or hockey I think it was. So we drafted him and he didn't want to sign and he didn't play a year at all because he didn't know what he wanted to decide yet until the following year when he put his name back in the draft. It's not like the White Sox dropped the ball on him, he simply didn't have a clear cut decision of what he wanted to do when we drafted him. O okay, I just assumed that they didn't sign him. That would kick some serious ass. We never would have went through the Koch debacle. If we substitue all of Koch;s blwn saves into wins via Gagne, we woulda won the division the last 2 years. DBAHO
Oh I'm goin to hav a friggin field day with this, and I'm going to put in FA signings as well; 1) The Randy Johnson Trade (Garland, Konerko and Anderson or Sweeney) 2) Trading for Jay Gibbons (since the O's resigned him for a year) 3) Signing Crisitan Guzman 4) Signing Russ Ortiz 5) Signing Eric Milton 6) Signing Jaret Wright 7) Trading for Alfonso Soriano 8) Signing Orlando Cabrera 9) Signing Derek Lowe to a big contract 10) Trading for Jerry Hairston instead of Scott Podsednik 11) Re-signing Maggilo Ordonez 12) Re-signing Scott Schoeneweis By now you know where most of these "ideas" are coming from;

Texas isn't gonna take Willie and Timo And we have no room for his free-swinging, never taken a walk in his life, horrible defensive antics anyways. He's a SS with power who can hit well and take a pitch. I'd still do it. 9) NO! 10) Who suggested that? 11) When healthy, he's one of the top OFs in the game. We're looking smart now, but unfortunately I think Detroit is going to get the last laugh on this one. 12) If he wanted anything more than $1 million, not worth it IMO. Dam8610
I don't think anyone is going to trade for him, I think he'll actually come back and continue his (to this point) stellar career. He may have walked on us and I still dislike him for that, but I can't forget what he did all those years for the Sox. YASNY
Since Ozzie responded with his rant, where he said something about "He's f***ing with the wrong guy." which in my opinion was a veiled threat, Maggs has been very quiet. We'll see if it continues when we hook up with the Kitties again.

Dam8610
Wow, that's bad, but I still think Maggs could continue to be a great player if he ever recovers from his injury.
Capn12
And actually, after some more studying up... Of every stadium that Maggs has had at least 100 ABs in, his average at Comerica Park ranks 2nd worst, only to Network Associates (where all of our hitters have sucked). Comerica career BA: .
