Bmr31
I think last night has two examples of how mentally weak the sox team is. First of all, this pitcher they cant beat. Mays f***ING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it wasnt for the sox, he would barely be a major league pitcher. Second of all, the yanks just totally dominated the twins. The twins come in to chicago and make us look sick. Both reasons are mental. :fyou

The twins come in to chicago and make us look sick. Both reasons are mental. :fyou all you have to do is look at 3 plays last night 1...in the first inning dustin mohr doubles...cristian guzman then makes sure he hits a ground ball to first to move mohr over to 3rd...it was a cutter in from buehle , and guzman had to pull his hands in and take a half swing to do it...but he did..when is the last time a sox player went that far out of his way to make sure he pushes an inside pitch to the right side??..in a post game manuel would say something like well you cant expect a player to go opposite field on a pitch that far inside as one of our players would have grounded out 5-3 and left the runner stranded at 2nd... 2. in the 7th the sox , down 3-1 , had runners on 1st and 2nd , no outs...rios gets a perfect pitch to bunt and lets it go by for strike one...on the 2nd attempt he never got the bat even close to being out in front of him and bunted a ball foul towards the on deck circle...it was pretty obvious rios wanted to hit and be the hero and had no intention of getting that bunt down..he was willing to go in the hole 0-2 so he could get to swing away..the result..a game killin double play...what did manuel do....did he force him to bunt with 2 strikes???..no..did he immediately pull rios from the game for an obvious disrespect of his authority by making a piss poor effort to get a bunt down???...no..manuel will probably trot rios back out there again with no consequences to his actions...you wonder why we dont play as a team???....iots pretty simple..you dont get a bunt down..you sit 3. manuel himself leaving sanders in to face kielty....thursday night the orioles were down by 2 runs to the sox 4-2...in the 7th lefty bj ryan pitches to jimenez and valentin..got the both out ...their manager , still managing like he thinks his team can win pulls ryan for the righty willis roberts to face thomas...never did the thought cross his mind , down two runs to let a lefty face thomas..now manuel in the same exact spot...down 2 late in the game lets rookie lefty david sanders face bobby kielty , hitting 385 against left handed pitching, the result , a 2 run homer and the game is out of reach....what other manager in baseball would have let sanders face kielty???...manuel , down 2 runs , managed like the sox were down 10 runs..he was acting like sanders was just mopping up...no wonder this team doesnt come from behind..EVER
Bmr31
In all fairness, I feel the two main reasons the sox are mentally weak are Manuel and Frank.

greg775
If that's true about Rios, I don't even want him on the team. Did you see KC's Ken Harvey screwed up a bunt today in a tie game in the ninth then whacked a 3-run homer when the sign was taken off? I guess we are a hexed team maybe for all time. I wish we had Piniella to work with this team. Cause frankly, who are we gonna hire when we can JM? It's going to have to be someone on his staff or the minors right now? Is Bucky Dent the man? If we lose tonight, I'd can JM. It's getting serious.
greg775
Good point on Guzman moving the runner over, also. Winning teams know they simply have to do those things to get it done. We still must have a selfish clubhouse. I thought Daubauch and Koch would take care of it, but obviously not. And if Sandy isn't then get rid of Sandy
