Rowand44
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Yah and after he gets that 3-4 hit game he needs to actually get the bags stolen! He had a chance earlier in the year when he had 4 stolen bases already in the game, problem was the game was a blowout. That's a tough thing to do for scotty because chances are if he's on base 3 times in a game already with 3-4 stolen bases, the sox are going to have scored a ton of runs that game possibly resulting in another blow out. marsh
the fact that we play alot of close games weighs heavily in pods favor of swiping six.
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
There's also baseball etiquette involved here too. If your leadoff guy is getting on enough in a game to steal 4 or 5 bases, there's a pretty good chance your team is comfortably ahead. To keep stealing in that situation late in the game tends to piss off the opposition, to the point that someone may get drilled. So people don't keep stealing, by and large, in that situation, because it becomes an individual glory kind of thing that can rebound against the team. Plus, if you break a finger with a head first slide on your attempt to steal base number 7, you got a huge problem with your own team. I think the record is safe. sayitaintso
QUOTE(marsh @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:14 AM) the fact that we play alot of close games weighs heavily in pods favor of swiping six. If pods ever swiped six bags, the game should be a blowout. If it's not, then there's a problem.
