greasywheels121
http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-ssep18.html Ozzie has plans for All-Star break BY TONI GINNETTI Staff Reporter The Sox have the best record in baseball, and there's a good chance manager Ozzie Guillen will be invited to join Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona's American League coaching staff for the All-Star Game. But Guillen will have to decline. The White Sox manager, who is in the final steps toward gaining U.S. citizenship, already has other obligations planned for the July 11-13 break as part of the legal process. ''If they asked me, I would appreciate it, but I have things to do in Miami [his home] and paperwork to do for my citizenship those three days,'' Guillen said Friday. "Hopefully, it wouldn't be my last chance.'' Guillen expects to become a U.S. citizen by the fall. When he does, his youngest sons, Oney and Ozney, also will become citizens. Both were born in Venezuela and have legal residency status in the United States. Guillen's oldest son, Oswaldo Jr., was born in Las Vegas in 1984 while Guillen was in the San Diego Padres' system. Guillen was selected to three All-Star teams during his playing days with the Sox -- 1988, 1990 and 1991. Sox pitchers Jon Garland, Mark Buehrle and Dustin Hermanson have the best chance to represent the team. This season, pitchers and reserves will be selected more by voting among players and league representatives than the managers of the teams, Francona and the St. Louis Cardinals' Tony La Russa for the National League. ''I think that will be better for everyone,'' Guillen said. "Most managers tend to take their own players if they had good years the year before. And not just Joe Torre.'' The New York manager selected five of his players as reserves last year, giving the Yankees eight representatives.

Be Good
I hope Francona doesn't take 5 subs like Torre did last year. I don't ever want to see Torre or any Yankmee manager as the ASG manager. Those Red Sox and Yankmee already have enought starters.
