mac9001
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) Why? Halladay 10-4, 2.53 ERA, 11 QS, 0.95 WHIP Buehrle 8-1, 2.67 ERA, 11 QS, 1.05 WHIP Garland 12-2, 3.40 ERA, 10 QS, 1.09 WHIP and seeing as Halladay also has more IP and Ks i'd say he's more worthy. BTW, Kenny Rogers should get some consideration too. Edited June 22, 2005 by mac9001

Ditto. Buehrle and Garland are on a much better team however which will probably push them past Halladay in many peoples minds.

Kalapse
QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) but garland and mark are the pitching the best for the best team in the baseball That sentence makes absolutely no sense. I guess you're saying: "However Buehrle and Garland and pitching the best for the team with the best record in baseball." Halladay has better stats this season and he's doing it on a worse team in a division the "experts" feel is one of the best in baseball. I would love to see Buehrle start the All-Star game but at this point if you're going by stats and actually want to start the most deserving player Halladay gets the nod. mac9001
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Thank you very much. Run support: Jon Garland: 7.11 Mark Buehrle: 4.00 Roy Halladay: 3.71 A main factor in pitchers picking up wins is runs is run support, thus making Halladay's 10 wins ever more impressive. That has to make you more deserving, helping your team to the best record in the bigs. Edited June 22, 2005 by Jake
Texsox
I think they will give the nod to Garland with another win or two. The hottest pitcher, on the best team, that is winning with great pitching. Makes for a good story and entertainment is what it's about. I would not have a complaint with any of the three. It's a nice honor for the player, but we're taking shades of greatness so far. It may also hinge a bit on how the rotation shapes up.

Texsox
Isn't wins what's all about? I would rank Mark actually third of these guys. But seriously, isn't there a Red Sox or Yankee that could start?
Jabroni
Halladay has the stats to be the starter but I hope either Garland or Buehrle are chosen. Konerko got f***ed by steroid-boy Giambi, who was hitting .240 at the time last year, so I wouldn't have a problem with it.
Rowand44
Halladay and Buehrle have been the two best pitchers in the al this year, however Halladay has been a bit better and because of this he should be the starter. As I've stated before I'd prefer neither Mark or Jon pitch in that game but I'm sure both of them will.
