Mathew
Keeping the ball down, no fly balls=no home runs, gotta love that.
Mathew
I'm jealous as hell of all of you at the game, must be quite a clinic by Loaiza through 6 complete.
southsider2k5
Keeping the ball down, no fly balls=no home runs, gotta love that. The Twins have had a rough time all around with EL. He is moving the ball around incredibly well, up down, inside and out. Another great start with 8K's through 6 innings.

It looks on this thing like he really tends to keep the ball down, with the exception if a few pitches, unless he missed it would take a Guerrero/Lee golf shot to get out of the park. Mathew
6 pitches to Cuddyer all around the knees, and another ground ball out, perfect.
baggio202
this is the best loaiza has looked imo...t hat cutter he is throwing is really breaking in hard on the lefties..it reminds me of mariano rivera...plus he is throwing his change up and curve ball inside to right handed hitters...its a pitchers clinic on how to pitch inside to both righties and lefties...all game long he has been tieing these guys up.. this just might be his breakthrough year if he wins today its between him and mike mussina for AL play of the month..both 5-

Yeah the only guy on the Twins who can do that is Torii Hunter
Mathew
Sometimes pitching can be really simple, hit spots and keep the ball down, that little league stuff works at any level. He is challenging hitters by putting pitches in the zone, but not in the wheel house like a certain closer we have.
