Jabroni
Timo Perez (career stats vs. Greg Maddux) 8 for 19 with 2 HR's (.421)
ChiSox_Sonix
I wouldnt doubt it...Didnt he start a game vs Maddux either earlier this year or last year? If he does start tomorrow it'll be one of the few times I actually wouldnt be disgusted about it...he does hit Maddux pretty well.

Balta1701
I just checked...no Timo did not face Maddux when he pitched against us earlier this year...he was 8 for 19 against him coming into that game. I think I was surprised he didn't face him.

With any luck that gives us a guarantee that Widger won't be told to catch Contreras tomorrow. The guy Timo has always hurt that you might be remembering is Brad Radke from the Twins...Timo's also had an excellent career against Radke, Ozzie played him in that game, and Timo hit quite well, including another long ball. santo=dorf
I remember hearing the same s*** last year when Timo started against him, and he hit a homer off of the Ol' spitball.

Carl Everett (career vs. Maddux): 8 for 34 (.235) Since '99, there's no player in baseball with a higher SLG% against the Cubs than Carl. http://www.baseballmusings.com/cgi-bin/Com...r=desc&MinPA=50 .490/.536/.961 -- OUCH
Rowand44
Ozzie has said it himself that he really doesn't look at numbers and with Carl needing ab's I hardly doubt Timo starts.
Julius
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) Ozzie has said it himself that he really doesn't look at numbers and with Carl needing ab's I hardly doubt Timo starts. I expect Maddux to be his old self today, in light of all the spitter stuff. Timo should not be on this team, but he still is so it behooves Ozzie to put Timo in the lineup when he has proven that he can hit Maddux. Sox have always been in games til the end, so when it gets to the late innings, go ahead and pinch hit for Timo. Let Timo play RF and sit Dye. Sometimes, one just had to pull a George Costanza and "do the opposite." When everyone wants Timo on the bench, do the reverse and start him.
