WookieOnRitalin Posted June 25, 2005 Share Posted June 25, 2005 The guy had another 3 hit game tonight. He's hitting .406 on the season since being called up. 25 hits in 66 at bats. The guy is quite simply in a groove and I'm glad he's having success in Seattle, but too bad for the Pale Hose to lose a young player like that at a 'need' position in my mind. I don't know if he'll be able to stay this consistent, even to a .300 level at the major league level, but he is obviously doing something right. Another good prospect that slipped through the cracks I guess, but every organization has a few of those out there so its not really that bad. He's a young talented defender with a decent enough bat. It's hard to find SS's around the league that are better than Uribe, and if Mike Morse turns out to be better then so be it. Uribe is our guy, nor Morse and we currently have a record that Seattle would cream their pants over. He wasn't even hitting well in AA, so if he keeps it up, I'll be surprised. But, if he does turn out to be a great hitting shortstop, I can't blame Kenny Williams. He certainly showed no signs of it in the Sox organization. And, to tell you the truth, he really didn't show signs of it in the Mariners organization. And with Carlos Lee doing well in MIL, teams should see that KW isn't going to screw the other teams in a trade. that should make more GM's willing to deal w/ KW in the future [hopefully very near future].
