I believe the hitters entered this game thinking Prior was going to be in top shape. They expected a sharp breaking ball, 95 mph fastball with movement, and pin point control.

What's amazing is the offense did worse today than the last meeting they had against Prior.

Against rhp, we don't have enough lefties.  We played 3 lefties today, and that's including one of our benchers.  A real tough righty will eat alive any team with that many righties in their order.

Huh? I count 5. Pods, Harris, Timo, Pierz, plus Everett as a switch hitter who hits well from the left side.

Shut up.  This series means something more to some of us.  Don't come into a thread made for venting expecting compliments.

ARe you about to lose an arm or a leg to a bookie over it? Are you going to die because we lost. Grow up.

9 games up, still best record in baseball, got an off day, then get to play Detroit. We'll win that series and everyone will be fine.

Oh sorry, not allowed to be positive.

This is hilarious. One bad game and everyone is off the bandwagon. We just had ANOTHER 8 game win streak. Geez, people.

Two games in a row of pull baseball corpseball bulls***. 5 hits yesterday and we got 1 hit by a 2 pitch throwing prior.

I know we are winning the division, however we need to get better and being consistant with scoring runs. Last year we would score 10 in one game and then get shut out for a few games. We will face good to great pitching in the playoffs.

No actually our hitters were chomping at the bit when they saw the 91-93 mph straight fastball and roller curve and out thought themselves. They thought ESPN and that if they took Prior deep a few times they would look like heros. Instead a great pitching performance goes to s*** because our guys cant stop going for the fences.

Next year I hope they move them back.

I'm sorry there is no positive spin on this performance today (other than continued good pitching by Garland).

Sometimes a team needs a little wake up call, when your offense sputters as bad as it did the last two games in front of a full house at home ... they need to sit down and analyze why they didn't make Prior work harder.

There is no need to panic or overreact, but they should sit down and figure out how to not let it happen again. I did not see the game but from what I gathered here, some of the two strike swinging was awful.

I THINK WHAT REALLY HURT WAS WHEN WILLIE WALKED AND FRANK AND PAUL TRYED TO BE THE HERO

Well the funny thing was watching Blanco. He would look at our hitters standing so far off the plate, then put the signal down and setup outside. He kept looking up almost astonished that they didnt change the approach. Nice long looping swings looking for the fence.

We were lucky we didnt get no hit.

The only thing I will say, I was surprised Everett was not in the lineup today, playing OF.

Remember they hit 3 solo shots against him last time they faced him. You know they were all looking for the quick yard shot.

This was my main problem as well. I think we only had like 2 guys, when Prior was on the mound, get to a count with 3 balls, and even though I think Prior got some help by Angel Hernandez both time, he got out of it like he was suppose to.

This time we’re the ones who looked like a f***ing Triple A team and it’s f***ing embarrassing.

1 hit!? Garland definitely didn’t deserve the loss for this game. The offense was absent and it seems like the last time it was present was on Friday afternoon.

Tomorrow is going to be a long day...

This is a bunch of bulls*** did all of the Sox hitters forget how to work the count? swinging at pitches out of the zone or swinging at the first pitch. Cmon Timo Perez one of the most unpatient hitters on the team draws a walk the Pod who is a patient hitter starts hacking at everything and whiffs then Carl comes up at hacks at first pitch game over. Now I have to listen to Cub fan bulls*** all week. I know the season series is tied but Cub fans are too stupid to realize that. I hope Oz rips this team up and down.

I want to let it out. Until I remember we are 50 and f***ing 24. We split the cubs series, who cares? Beating the cubs is fun. This year though, we have bigger things we are trying to accomplish. If this is the highlight of the 2005 season for the Cubs and the Lowlight of the 2005 season for the sox then, Life is good. :gosox3:

I would like to see this team actually beat up something outside of mediocre pitching from time to time. We wont be facing a whole lot of mitres in the playoffs.
