brijames
The Sox need to put these last 2 behind them quickly and focus now on taking 2 of 3 from the Tigers. They can't dwell on these losses and let them turn into a 5 or 6 game losing streak. They are over with and now is time to get back on track. These games weren't as big as everyone wants to make them. They aren't chasing us in our Division. It was only about City bragging rights and the series ended 3-3 so nothing was proven. I would have to agree. It just is annoying being at the game today and hearing all those dumbass cubs fans. It made me so happy to not be one of them. I'm tired of hearing about the Sox playing the cubs. Glad that's over for the year. We can sweep the Tigers....
SouthSidePride05
The Sox need to focus and go on another winning streak starting Tuesday. We need to get this 9 1/2 lead up to 15. After the all-star break, Minnesota has a rough schedule. Maybe if we get a 15 game lead, the Twins and Cub fans will shut up. Right now, they're all saying (esp at my work) the Sox will choke and Minnie will eventually pass us. They never shut up about it. One more month of solid play, and they'll all shut up. Ahhhh.. I can't wait for that day. When do you guys think they'll eventually all shut up?? Edited June 27, 2005 by SouthSidePride05

needauribe
I agree that they will never shut up. At the game on Saturday I sat behind 4 OBNOXIOUS cub fans. From the moment they sat down they started with the typical cub fan rant. Complaining about the upper-deck, stadium, sound system, etc. I honestly felt like they were jealous. They proved many of the cub fan stereotypes (i.e. not having any clue who Contreras was, realizing that a pitcher change had been made 2 innings late etc.) Instead of making complete fools of them and asking them a baseball/cubs related question, I did my best to ignore them. Then after the game, after the Sox had their asses handed to them by the cubs, the Sox fan sitting next to me 1-upped ignoring them. He turned around, gave them high 5's, told them good game, and wished them luck in winning the wild card and making the playoffs. They were so completely shocked that they just stood there with blank stares. With the cub fans' mouths still hanging open in amazement, they guy and his nephew left the section. I think acts like that can only give Sox fans a good name, as the classy group that we are. Also, there were numerous fights in my section and each and EVERY fan that was escorted out by security was wearing cubs gear . . . so I know our 'classiness' is a trend rather than just the isolated incident I witnessed after the last out on Saturday.
