If you can tell me with a straight face that Utah doesn't make a conscience effort to remain the whitest team in the league, then I've got a bridge to sell you. And I'm throwing in Timo Perez too.

 

 

I could tell you that with a straight face. The end of the year roster last year had 8 of the 15 white and half of those guys are from Europe. I know they're very white, but seriously, who wants to go to Utah to play. There's a good home crowd there but it's not all that exciting to be in Salt Lake City. The white guys are just happy to play. I'll take the Bridge but you can keep Timo Perez.

Can some of you Illinois fans tell me if this was a good draft for the Jazz? What also should be expected of him and does he have the potential to be great? I know he's going to be called by Jazz fans "the next John Stockton" but what's a better comparison of him to any NBA player?

 

 

Yall got the best pg in the draft, imo. He can do it all. He can shoot, dish, slash, and play defense. He's lost about 15 pounds. So he should be even quicker. If Kirelinko and Boozer are Healthy, I expect the Jazz in the playoffs in 06.

Being the centerpiece and driving force for multiple championships counts for a lot in my book.

 

 

I wouldnt say they are that much greater than kidd but they both are better than him thats for sure, Kidd is good and he is the triple double king but there are a handful of players id take before him.

I don't know s*** about this guy or any other college player for the matter, but you're putting him and Jason Kidd in the same sentence?  That doesn't sound like nonsense to you?

 

That's why I wait until these guys actually play in the NBA, and then I evaluate them.  I find it odd that people will just compare some raw, unproven motherf***ers to NBA legends like Jason Kidd and John Stockton.  Is nothing sacred?

You take into account what he did in college(individual and team accomplishments), take into account what he was for a team(if Illinois didn't have him, where would they have been last year) and his attributes(skillset and mindset basically). All things point to him being a Jason Kidd type point guard with a better jump shot. Believe it or not, but that's the gist of how players are evaluated and how they decide who is worth the #1 overall pick and who is not even worth drafting.

 

Believe it or not, but he's a projected Jason Kidd.

There's are tons of better players I would take ahead of Kidd as history goes on. Plus the fact that he's a malcontent with most coaches, it's not even hard to think those players are better than Kidd.

Name three point guards in the last ten years as good as he was defensively. Who was a better overall point guard than kidd since he was in the league? Payton was better at both aspects ( offense and defense) and then stockton and kevin johnson were both better offensively but not as good of defenders. Jason kidd is a first ballot hall of famer whether you or anyone else likes. Kidd

 

He went to a team that was 26-56 the year before he got there and they ended up with the best record in the easteren conference at 52-30. As a point guard he led the nets to two finals i think that says something about how good of a player he really is. They were no worse than the seventh best defensive team while he was there and that has alot to do with his intensity.

 

Kidd is a dick, i will admit it, but so is payton and half the players in the nba. Payton is one of those guys who thinks he has never commited a foul along with cassel. Kidd thinks he runs the show ( sad thing is he does).

Before that he was an above average guard(think Andre Miller, but a little better at passing) who made a couple of All-Star teams. That's why he wasn't even talked about much. And it's not like he came close to winning the championship either. He took the Nets during the down years of the EC and you know you wouldn't be able to say with a straight face that the level of competition didn't play a role in it. He even wanted to jump on the Spurs bandwagon to be with Duncan.

Well projections don't always work out. But it's the best way to describe style of play. Anfernee Hardaway was a Magic Johnson type until his knee caught up with him(that's what happens when you're shot in your knee cap). It's not saying, these players will be as good as the players they project, but play similar to them. You're telling me when people said LeBron was a mix between Jordan and Magic were wrong?? He's exactly that. Shaun Livingston was doing damn well last season until he got injured.

 

Do you watch the NFL Draft? Or any other drafts because that's how they all are.
