Capn12
Only on Soxtalk can a thread celebrating a 13 inning win for the Sox involve both "Bonks Adventure" and a Journey reference

White Sox Josh
damn that last inning for Shingo was pitched all on guts. It was clear that he didn't have it anymore. Props to him. Great situational pitching by Politte to.

Jabroni
You are kidding right? Do you know how many missed opputunities we had tonight? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, the offense was brutal tonight. The bullpen won the game.
danman31
Frank BMac Konerko Bullpen White Sox! Nice win. 5.2 shutout innings from the pen including 4 of those from Vizcaino and Shingo. Gotta love that.
FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) I don't think I've ever heard a pre-Steve Perry Journey song. I didn't even know that there was pre-Steve Perry Journey until you said it, but I looked it up and there is. Yeah, the first album with ex-Zappa drummer Ainsley Dunbar on them were kind of prog-rock/fusion at times. Very different from the later albums. And I do give the band more grief than they probably deserve. Perry had about as pure a rock voice as any band, but the albums just always seemed way over-produced compared to the stuff I was into at the time. Plus, this girl who shot me down in high school was a big Journey fan, so I think I've been subconsciously taking my frustrations out on the group for the last 20 years. 3E8
Vizcaino should be a damn good major league reliever. -Mid nineties fastball -Avg to plus slider -Sinker with rightward movement When you can move the ball both directions on a hitter you can be nasty. Would be nice if he had some control I guess.
qwerty
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) Vizcaino should be a damn good major league reliever. -Mid nineties fastball -Avg to plus slider -Sinker with rightward movement When you can move the ball both directions on a hitter you can be nasty. Would be nice if he had some control I guess. Problem has been all year his fastball was consistently 91-92 the entire year up until the colorado series. He hit 96 twice in one at-bat in colorado and since then his velocity is back to how he was throwing last year. Another problem of his was throwing a slider three to four pitches out of every five. He still has a long ass way to go though.
KevHead0881
Although I was thinking about sending assassins after Ozzie every inning he sent Viz and Shingo out there, I have to admit that it looks like pure genious now. Maybe even more importantly than the win was how big Viz and Shingo were in pressure situations. These guys, like 'em or not, are in our bullpen, and using them in only mop up duty is a waste of roster spots. It took a lot of guts for Ozzie to put them in there tonight, and the boost to their confidence could play huge dividends later on. Or they could go back to sucking. The Ginger Kid
I'm stunned Uribe isn't getting more props for the play he made in the 9th to force extra innings. What a throw, man, what a throw!!

whitesoxin'
My game started at 8 tonight and we almost finished before the Sox. As soon as I got out of my game I had a text message telling me about the big win! Looks like I missed a nail biter! 52 wins, hell yeah! Dam8610
Uribe is an awesome defender. I'll take a lower average and a few more Ks than you'd want from your SS for his defense.
Jordan4life_2007
I guess the question of rather Uribe or Ozuna should play short was answered tonight. As far as the game goes...I'm starting to believe we are kinda lucky. lol But i'll take the w every single time. A nice healthy 10 game lead on the Twins going into July!
