Balta1701
QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) this game ain't getting played http://www.weather.com/activities/other/ot...229&from=search Look at the Radar, don't just trust the Weather Channel's hour by hour thing, the radar shows 1 line of storms that has been steadily moving through the area with nothing else behind it. Once the back of this line passes, the game will be on. It'll probably take another 45 minutes or so, but there will be baseball within 2 hours unless Detroit's field is in terrible shape. Kyyle23
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Too bad about Billy Corgan. I grew up with Jimmy Chamberlin, the drummer for for Smashing Pumpkins and know he is a Sox fan, at least he was all through grade school in Joliet. Belushi's a talentless douche bag who made a career by imitating his dead brother. And Harry was singing "Take me out" at Comiskey long before he did it at the urinal. I hate this nation's love affair with the cubs. Is this all on TWIB? Where did these random thoughts come from, Jack Handy?

Yeah they had a story about all the people who have sang Take Me Out...at the Cubs game. As a side, ESPN has the 1996 Home Run Derby, with the 1997 to follow. go-sox05
i think the home run derby should be all the guys who dont hit home runs alot. Scott Podesenik Chone Figgins Julio Lugo Johnny Damon Omar Vizqual David Eckstien you could win with like two.

Balta1701
Pods had 12 in 2004, and I think it's probably 1 of the biggest reasons he hit .240. Last year he was swinging too hard on every pitch (much like everyone else in our lineup), and because of that, he hit a ton of popups. Because he wasn't hitting the ball on the ground, he had no chance for his speed to manufacture hits for him, like he can this year. He hit 9 in 2003 when he hit .315. So yeah, he's due. But honestly? I wouldn't care at all if he didn't hit a single HR this year. I'd rather have him focusing on putting the ball on the ground. Every at bat. His job is to get on base and run, not to hit the ball over the fence.
