Jabroni
Well, I suggested picking up lefty Mike Stanton when the Yankees release him. How does that move look now?

Jabroni
"Sox put Marte on DL" http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines The White Sox have placed left-handed reliever Damaso Marte on the 15-day disabled list and have recalled left-hander Kevin Walker from Class AAA Charlotte. Marte has an inflamed left trapezius; he was placed on the DL retroactive to June 27. He is 3-3 this season with a 2.81 ERA and 29 strikeouts. He leads the Sox with 34 appearances this season. Walker, 28, was 0-2 with a 5.11 ERA and two saves in 29 appearances with Charlotte. The 6-foot-3-inch, 215-pounder was 0-1 with a 12.00 ERA in four games during his first stint with the Sox this season. He allowed two hits and no runs in his first three times out, May 14 and 15 against Baltimore and May 27 at Texas, but he gave up 4 runs on three hits and a walk against Anaheim on June 1, his last appearance. AddisonStSox
Get the f*** outta here. You have to be kidding me. The desire to have another leftie in the pen trumps all!!!
marsh
Also this throws a wrench in any trades KW was trying to pull that might have involved marte.

sircaffey
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) very good. I'm still wondering why we are even carrying Willie? What does he do? At least give it to Baj or Jenks who do something. Stanton would look marvelous I think...
southsideirish71
Lets not bring up Baj or Jenks. Lets bring up some retard who happens to be left handed. He has terrible numbers not only here but in AAA. This is almost as bad as Timo playing 1st.
YASNY
Well, well. Another reason why Ozzie left Shingo in the game last night comes to light. You see folks, we don't always know everything that is going on in that clubhouse.

Kenny is keeping both McCarthy and Marte on the roster and throwing this mother in cruise control until after the break. BOOK IT.
marsh
Ozzie leaving shingo in last nite now makes a heap more sense as i suspect marte was unavailable and hermie was the last guy out in the pen. Ya beat me Yas. Edited June 30, 2005 by marsh
Milkman delivers
What? WHAT?! First, I thought Marte was healthy again. Second, I hope Walker gets hit by a car on his way back and breaks both of his arms so he never even has a chance to f*** up a game. Why are we doing this? I seriously don't know why Kevin f***ing Walker is being called up. We insist on letting s***ty players take up roster space, I swear. Rowand44
This move is all ozzie, he loves playing the matchup bulls*** so he needs another lefty. Baj or Jenks deserve a promotion so much more then Walker it's ridiculous, actually if they wanted a lefty why not Munoz??? Well, hopefully this doesn't bite us in the ass. White Sox Josh
Shingo should pitch to leftys. They are hitting .225 off of him. Man and Hermy is probably gone be going to spend time with his dad soon.
sircaffey
If Ozzie uses Walker like he did in the Angels game, I'm gonna cry...
Southside hitmen
Sometimes us fans should lay off the Mgr because we dont know everything going on in the clubhouse.. Ozzie took a beating last night on this site for NO dam reason
Jabroni
Stanton would look marvelous I think... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mike Stanton (vs. Left) 1-1 record 0.93 ERA 0.93 WHIP .176 BAA 9.2 IP 6 H 1 ER 0 HR 3 BB 7 K With this Marte injury news, I am driving the Stanton bandwagon now. You know it won't. Kenny and Ozzie are just gonna put this thing into cruise control, keeping both McCarthy and Walker on the roster until after the all-star break. It's ok. Marte has been a non-factor as of late and McCarthy has kept us in a position to win games. We'll survive.
