Rooney and Farmer are saying that Marte was put on the DL likely as a precautionary move so he can maximize his days of rest with the All-Star break coming up. They said that Kenny is probably worried more than anyone else.

In one of the papers today, it said Marte was in Chicago yesterday attending to a personal matter and he returned to Detroit during the game yesterday. I bet he was getting examined.

Farmer just said that Kenny will want to see Marte do a rehab assignment before he comes back. Kenny will want to see him back to throwing the proper way. I guess Marte has been throwing differently with his injury.

White Sox recalled LHP Kevin Walker from Triple-A Charlotte.

The White Sox could have given fellow lefty Arnie Munoz or righty Jeff Bajenaru an opportunity, but they're OK with what they have now. Walker, who allowed four runs in three innings in his first stint with the White Sox, won't be needed to get important outs.

Congrats to Mike Stanton, as you've become Soxtalk's *Official* "Flavor of the Week". If you recall, Kevin Walker also had this spot for about a month, as well as Arizona Diamondback Alex Cintron. I'm sure that we'll see tons and tons of stats on you -- sometimes bolded, other times provided by links -- that you know we haven't ever seen before.

Oh... and this is a good move, 'cause Kevin Walker >>> Neal Cotts. Right?
