GoodAsGould
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) Chandler was ineffective in the playoffs because Washington had 2 or 3 big men while we only had basically Chandler...this ended up putting Tyson in big foul trouble the whole series and limiting his minutes and hence his effectiveness. We'd have been no better with Curry...he's a worse defender than Chandler, and without the 2nd guy, we'd still have been outgunned in the middle. Either we need both or we need to find more firepower somewhere else. If we want to be a dominating team, we need both. only basicly Chandler? Have you forgotten our other 2 big men in Othella Harrington and AD who both played if as good or better than Chandler in the playoffs.... I agree we should sign both at all costs but if it was only 1 of the 2 the priority should be Curry as long as he is completely healthy. hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) Chandler for the most part was pretty ineffective during our little playoff run and while I like him more than Curry, Curry is far more valuable to this team. Man, it's gonna be beautiful when Chandler is contending for the Defensive Player Of The Year award on the strength of insane shot-altering ability, and gunning for a rebounding title. I could see it now, it's coming y'all. Whether it's next year, the year after, whatever. f*** all of that playoff talk...it's pretty damn obvious that the refs weren't even letting the dude play. Tyson is a very clean defender. I was heated after the vast majority of those calls were made, but I understod. He's still a baby in NBA terms, and he just doesn't have that league-wide respect, let alone playoff respect.
hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) Duhon is a really good defender with a solid bball i.q. His jumper improved as the season went on. Hinrich doesn't have to chase the quick pg's around all game with Duhon in there. As somebody mentioned, his assist/turnover ratio was one of the best in the league. This guy was a secound round steal. We most definitely have to bring him back. Duhon is the man. I'd say that he's my favorite player on the Bulls outside of Tyson and Nocioni. Kirk would be right there behind him.

But I just think on this team that Curry is the more valuable player to us because he is our only big guy who can score really with Chandlers offense being jams, AD being old and inconsistent, and Othella gets the majority of his offense from that jump shot thing he does. Most everyone should improve and the teams just going to get better. Plus in one more year they'll have money to add an impact type free agent to join the club. Wade is a superior defensive PG, but I think he saw Tinsley have 1 decent game a few years ago, or maybe at ISU, and fell in love. I clearly recall him hobbling a bit on the bad foot in the few games he played. He didn't look good. And yes, I'll take kobe on my team over someone shooting airballs in the Finals any day, so whatever... Now go watch Kobe on defense, and then watch him still have the energy to score the way he does. I am not a Kobe fan at all, but he's a talented bastard... Now cross your fingers that Tinsley's foot will be fine because it sure as hell was a recurring problem throughout the season...
DBAHO
Interesting rumor; the Magic want Jaric, Simmons & a back up center believed to be Moore and the Magic would trade Deiner, Stevenson, Christie and picks. The Clips really like Stevenson and Deiner. Christie would apparrently be released. The hold up is the 3 free agents. The Magic have already met with both the agents of Jaric and Simmons. Simmons and jaric are both asking for slightly over the MLE. As for the Clips, apparrently the Magic were talking to them before the draft and the Magic were aware they wanted a back up PG, which could explain the pick of Deiner a little more. The Clips want a cheap back up for Livingston and Stevenson they feel is about the same as Simmons and like his salary. I have no idea how Moore or the supposed "back-up" center would play in to things or the pick(s) for that matter. The Magic are apparrently focusing moreso on Jaric but would love to land Simmons in an S&T if the Clippers will take Christie off their hands. Jaric apparrently is saying all the right things about a possible return to the Clips but his agent has communicated to them he does not want to return since he will be considered only a backup and not seeing much time behind Livingston or Simmons(or Stevenson). The Clippers apparrently view him as an all around back up that can be inserted in any of the 3 backcourt positions. By the way, Jaric was not their first choice, but Antonio Daniel's agent flatly told the Magic he was not interested. Apparently the Cav's are the front runner for his services, then the Lakers. The Cav's are trying to get him and Redd to come in at the same time. LeBron is apparrently campaigning hard for them both. that situation should be interesting. The hold up in the Clippers deal mainly seems to be about Money and playing time. Both players are seeking about 6 years at 42 million.
