As of right now- the whole Schmidt rumor has dimmed a bit. The Giants feel that they still are in the playoff hunt and Barry Bonds is expected to come back at the end of July. So unless the Giants extremely falter within the next 2 weeks- this trade wont happen  :(

I'm sceptical about the Schmidt rumor for other reasons, but I don't believe for a second that Bonds will be back by the end of July. All he's doing now is some exercises, he has yet to begin swinging a bat, and just a couple days ago he posted something on his website saying he had been set back by swelling in his knee. Even allowing for that miracle, they're 10 games back and they have crap for a rotation. And for a bullpen. The SF Giants are done for this year, and the most incompetent front office in the league would see that.

Btw, in case I'm wrong and this Schmidt thing goes through, I sure hope they'll throw in Jerome Williams too.

On a related note, Rosenthal's biggest all star snub was Podsednik.

Good to see Scott getting some love.

ive been giving him some love for the final man
