He wasn't an extremely highly rated prospect last season, and after his quality spring training, his stock went sky-high. Someone with McCarthy's stuff is usually not rated as highly as he has been. BMac has SUCKED.. I dont care if he has talent and class, GOOD, trade him so we can get something to help us RIGHT NOW.. We are in great shape to make a run, I do not care for players who are struggling at the ML level right now.. This is way too important, people have a right to be mad at BMac right now.. and honestly I wouldnt mind at all if we traded him for something to help us out RIGHT NOW and this season, because thats all that matters right now, this season.. It's up to the minor league developers to get the best out of the player's talent. Please don't tell me that you think our minor league people do a good job at developing players? As for McCarthy, I don't think he'll be a bust, I just don't think his trade value will ever get as high as it is now. Considering that, I think now is the time to trade him. He won't do anything to help us win this year, and this is our year, if there is ever going to be one. Schmidt, Zito, or anyone else, I'm all up for getting.
