the red sox fans i talked to seemed to support pods so we may get some help there.

Were they supporting Pods or ripping on A-Rod for being a classless low life son of a b****?

actually i was really surprised at how classy they were in general, i came in with the whole 'lets screw the yankees' thing but they were all like, we dont hate Jeter just the fact that he's a yank. it was odd. but they're pretty kool people.

From MLB.com, "After one day of balloting, New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter leads the American League voting by a hair over Chicago White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik."

This was posted today around 10:50am.

Email from MLB.com on the voting...

Right now Derek Jeter of the Yankees holds a slight lead over Podsednik. Forward this e-mail to everyone you know and encourage them to VOTE! Scott Podsednik needs your votes so cast your ballot now and then forward this e-mail to a friend and ask them to vote too!

It'll be Jeter no doubt. because as BBTN would have us believe it's a f***ing national Tragedy that Derek Jeter isn't on the All-Star Team.

Quite frankly, I have to say f*** Derek Jeter. Is he on the best team in baseball with 41 stolen bases? No, not even close. This popularity s*** with the Yankees has gotta stop. We gotta get Pods in there. I'll spend all day voting if I have to.

We got a bit of an endorsement from ESPN.com's Daily Quickie today...

Wait: Where's "Anyone but Jeter" on the All-Star Game "Final Man" ballot?

If ESPN.com fan polling is any indication, "The Face of Baseball" might not even be able to win a popularity contest among All-Star also-rans.

In what should be a close finish, Jeter is running neck-and-neck with Torii Hunter. Please: Anyone but Jeter.

Presuming the Final Man will be a one-play sub at best, why not pick someone who can make the most impact in a pinch? Vote Scott Posednik!

(But if last year is any indication, as soon as Far East fans pay attention, it's Matsui in a walk, though he's running last in ESPN.com polling.)

Mark Buehrle is doing his part:

After the game, pitcher Mark Buehrle went on the field with microphone in hand to ask the crowd to cast Internet votes for teammate Scott Podsednik as the final member of the AL All-Star team. The request was Buehrle's idea. Buehrle, Garland and first baseman Paul Konerko already have been named to the team.

Let's hope it helps. :pray
