jphat007
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) Here's the one thing I haven't understood all season with Ozzie....when he does sub a starter, he seems to sub at least 2 or 3 starters in that same game. I have no problem with bench players getting a chance, but it would be better to just insert one bench player into the game with the starter, instead of having 33 pct of your starting lineup be bench players. Just a thought. Considering we're 31 games over .500, I'm pretty sure he has a good handle on what he wants to do.
fathom
QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) At this point I'm more worried about the Indians. They have a fairly easy 2nd half schedule The biggest series of the year for the Indians is the first series right after the ASB. With a 4 game series at home against the Sox, they have a chance to make up ground in a hurry. I'll be content with a 2-2 series after the ASB. I was really hoping that no one would use the record as the answer to my thought. I don't know what our record has been lately with our "Sunday" lineup in the game, but everyone here knows how much we struggled at the beginning of the season with these types of lineup. fathom
Everett hitting into some tough luck tonight. If Willie had done his job, we would have had two runs though. I thought Pods was going to try and steal 3rd there. Good time for PK to get hot again.

I don't know what our record has been lately with our "Sunday" lineup in the game, but everyone here knows how much we struggled at the beginning of the season with these types of lineup. you're right, but keep in mind it took him a while to realize that when bench players are subbed into the lineup, they don't have to take the place of that player in the order when the game hasn't started. actually I think the record might be the motivation, maybe he's going with the "you don't have to win them all with an 11 game lead on the division" mentality. fathom
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) You have that mentality your lead is cut in half before you can blink. Considering how often we have to play the Twins in the 2nd half, I can guarantee you that Ozzie is now going with that approach. We have a potentially very, very difficult 2nd half of the year schedule with a lot of games against tough AL East teams, Twins, and Indians.
