NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) are you kidding me? That movie was great, that has always been one of my all time favorite movies to watch.. well favorite war movie anyways.... I was rooting for Ed Harris the whole time. There were 3 parts when I couldn't stop laughing though. First is when they captured one of Zaitsev's buddies, dressed him up in a German uniform and made him crawl out there like one of the cable installer guys then dude got popped in the head by his own people. Second is right at the beginning when the boats are crossing the river, or trying to, and the German planes just f*** em up with bombs and machine guns. What a hapless bunch the ordinary Russian was though. When they tried to jump off the boat and dodge the machine gun fire they got shot full of holes by their own officers. When Ed Harris strung up that stupid kid toward the end of the movie I laughed for 5 minutes straight.
Soxy
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) Jude Law falls under the "didn't meet his potential" category. He was such a pussy in "Enemy at the Gates" he almost spoiled the whole movie. ^^^^^^^

Yoda
Joe Pesci and his performance in Goodfellas. Pesci never really got the attention that De Niro got whether it was on Goodfellas or not. I really like the work he did.

Yoda
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) Too bad Joe doesn't seem to be acting anymore Those are my exact same feelings. You ask someone who Pesci is and they might not know who he is. That's just how underrated he is.
LosMediasBlancas
I don't think Pesci is unknown. The next time someone says you're funny, ask them: "funny how?" He'll forever be known for that, EVERYONE knows that.
sox4lifeinPA
I've heard Pesci doesn't get the respect he deserves because his characters aren't far from reality, i.e. he's really a psychotic a-hole and impossible to work with in real life. Yoda
I don’t know how he is in real life, but I can tell you this: Scorsese and De Niro found a great man who can act and not disappoint. His performance in Raging Bull, which earned him an Academy Award, was good enough to get me to watch the rest of his other films. Another good one is Casino. He's not a versatlie actor. That might be why, if he can only play the stereotype Italian mobster type and he's really kinda that way in real life, then it's not really a stretch. Can you name a movie where he doesn't play 'that' guy?
KipWellsFan
Add Chris Cooper to the underrated list. I just watched Silver City and he was great, also great in Adaptation and American Beauty. Of course he is an Oscar winner so I don't know if he really is underrated. southsideirish
Jeff Bridges is the most underrated actor EVER in my book. He is great in everything I have ever seen and he nor his movies get much publicity. My others are Philip Seymour Hoffman The Rock Steve "Crazy Eyes" Buscemi William H. Macy Ed Harris Jake Busey Bert Reynolds Alec Baldwin Chris Cooper Edited July 11, 2005 by southsideirish
