From WhiteSox.com:

Chris Getz, who had one hit Saturday, is hitting .478 during his six-game hitting streak for Birmingham.

Currently in Birmingham (AA):

18 Games / 67 ABs / 7 BB / 6 SO / .313 BA / .387 OBP / .403 SLUG

Everything I've read about him says that he has a great glove, Major League Ready at 2nd base, some say it is even good enough for short.

One of my favorite prospects in the Sox system. He has #2 hitter written all over him, tremendous plate discipline, has ability to steal some bases, and well above average defense. His average is a bit off right now, but I expect he will get it going and improve, plus B-Ham isn't very kind to hitters. Would be shocked if he had to go back to AA next year, but with Angel Gonzalez at 2nd for Charlotte hard to say what will happen.

Getz is by far the better prospect, but Gonzalez is still fairly young. Either way, I would like to see Getz in AAA next year.

IMO, Getz is the best 2B I have seen at the Barons since Aaron Miles. Great glove and consistent hitter. I hope to see him again next season, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets the call.

Welcome aboard and thanks for your insite. Judging by your name, I take it you see at least a few Baron's games a year? The thing I like about Getz is his ability to play multiple positions (since I see him as a utility player in the long run).

Thanks for the welcome! Yep, I live in Birmingham and have season tix for the Barons. Looking forward to seeing the Sox play the exhibition game against the Barons on March 29th.
