retro1983hat
Really, how much more do we need to see that Vizcaino is not the long relief answer. I can not remember a game where he came in and didn't give up at least one run. Time for some sort of move involving him. Shingo is also not a long relief answer. Albeit he did surrender 4 hits and a walk. I just cringe when i see this guy come in when we are tied or leading by a run
UofIChiSox
yesterday I cringed with Vizcaino in, but I was listening on the radio, and Rooney and Farmer pointed out the guys remaining in the White Sox bullpen: Kevin Walker Shingo Takatsu Bobby Jenks Some of you will argue that Takatsu should have been in, but out of the three guys above and Vizcaino, I still want Vizcaino to have the ball in a close game. I guess that means we need more bullpen help!

WHarris1
FWIW if you take away Viz's blowup where he took one for the team in April his ERA is 3.
White Sox Josh
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) FWIW if you take away Viz's blowup where he took one for the team in April his ERA is 3.15 and if you take that Texas and the cleveland disaster out of Shingo's record it is 3.07. Vizcaino has been Brutal this year. For example 75% of Shingo's inherited baserunners don't score compared to Vizcaino's 30%.

Balta1701
I worry when Viz comes in as much as the next person, and he is one of the only roster spots I'd really be interested in upgrading @. That said...can anyone suggest to me someone who's going to be available in the "3-4 inning block every 3-4 days" role who will be available for a decent price? No one is rapidly popping to my mind. I really don't want to try to mine the Tampa bullpen or the Colorado bullpen for this one. Maybe the solution is to give an extra roster spot to a pitcher instead of a position player and keep a guy like Jenks around, so that we don't have to have Viz go 2.1 innings as often. Maybe that's why a guy like Zach Day was mentioned. And who says he'd be necessarily better than Vizcaino? Middle relievers have an annoying tendancy to be mediocre on occasion. That's why they're middle relievers instead of starters or closers.
