What movie ending shocked you?

Armaggedon - I never thought I'd see "you-know-who" die saving the world.

Napolean Dynamite - The ending AFTER all the credits rolled. The reaction of LaFawnduh's family when she says "I do" is hilarious.

The Matrix - Wow, that ending just totally sucked...

Unbreakable was one where I got to the ending and I went...

WTF?! That's just stupid!

After the Sixth Sense, M. Night Shyamalan's movies got predictable in a way. His movies were built from the end backwards. Try to make an ending that will shock the viewers, no matter how bad or stupid it is. The Village looked good from the previews, but I just knew it would suck because he'd throw in some s***ty, half-assed "twist" ending. He did, I got what I expected, and I was still disappointed.

In honor of the War of the Worlds thread...

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas -- Gilliam totally made that movie's ending and plot geared towards only people who had read the book!

But for me realistically, it was Se7en, Usual Suspects, Sixth Sense the first time I saw it and Fight Club.

:lolhitting

I read somewhere that "Unbreakable" was written as a graphic novel trilogy by Shyamalan. The end seemed really rushed and corny. I liked everything about that movie except for the wrap-up scene.

Don't you be knocking Kane, hear?!?  That and Casablanca are as close to cinematic perfection as an American film has ever got.

Discussion closed.

For those playing along at home...this is sarcasm without the faithful colors. Call me a rebel, but I am breaking the color barrier for once.

Both pale in comparison to "The Stuff" or "Death Spa."

Whoever said Shawshank Redemption: :headbang

f***ing awesome movie!!!!!

The book was better.

If we start getting into Stephen King books/movies then you get some really interesting endings. Some of his stories don't even really have endings. He just leaves it up to the reader's imagination. They certainly don't all end with "happily ever after" either...

For anyone that has read the Dark Tower series. That ending was suprising, although I kinda suspected it anyway. I know a lot of people that hated it. And to think that some people had been waiting 20 years for that ending...

I have gotten to "The Wolves of Calla" so far, so no spoilers please :)

Nobody is ever happy with the way an author ends things. But in the end, it is the authors story to do with what they will. Stephen King is pretty awesome, I want to read The Plant, i heard it was pretty good. too bad all of kings fans took him for a sucker when he offered to let them read it online if they promised to pay later.

I think you may have a point. The Stuff is a fun flick. I know I have seen Death Spa, but I forget almost everything but the video box cover!

Any movie about hypnotic dessert toppings discovered oozing out of the ground by toothless hillbillies has got to make my top ten of all time.
