southsider2k5
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 08:18 AM) SS2K5, put that guy on the terrorist watch list! In fact, all cub fans should be on that list. Believe me, he is right on top of the list. I believe in racial profiling when it comes to Cub fans. daa84
who have we beaten.. weve beaten minnesota (2nd in AL in pitching behind chisox) LAA (3rd) cleveland(4th) detroit (5th) toronto (7th). the only team we didnt beat was oakland who is 6th. true, we beat the drays and royals (14th and 13th), but we are supposed to beat those teams. what good pitching are you afraid of? The big bad yankees and red sox?? well they are ranked 10th and 12th in the league in pitching. we will get a steady dose of MIN pitching in the second half but thats nothing we havent faced and beaten already. Al Lopez Ghost (old)
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) Does anyone remember what the Sox batting average was as a team in our last 3 playoff appearances? Where can I find that? In the 1983 ALCS we hit .211 as a team; in the 93 ALCS we hit .237, and in the 2000 ALDS we hit GOD ALMIGHTY .185. This info is from the media guide, which you gotta have for so much info.

This info is from the media guide, which you gotta have for so much info. That's what I thought. I remember all 3 teams looking solid during the season and then the offense got completely shut down in the playoffs because they finally faced tough pitchers back to back to back to back. We'll see about this '05 team.

He is not looking for an answer to his question, he wants us to agree with him and be negative about the team. Some of us here are happy with a first place, best record in MLB team at the break. We'll worry about the playoffs when they come.

Heads22
Pardon me, but a losing record against two teams by the ASB doesn't seem too shabby. Every team has their kryptonite. Ours just happens to have an elephant on the sleeve.
DukeNukeEm
We havent beaten many good pitchers because we cant play ourselves. Not a joke either, arguably we have 2 of the top 3 AL pitchers this year in Garland and Buehrle. Edited July 13, 2005 by DukeNukeEm
