White Sox reinstate Damaso Marte from 15-day disabled list

CHICAGO -- Prior to tonight's game, the Chicago White Sox reinstated left-handed pitcher Damaso Marte from the 15-day disabled list.

Marte, 30, was placed on the disabled list on June 30 (retro to June 27) with an inflamed left trapezius. He is 3-3 with a 2.81 ERA (8 ER/25.2 IP) and two saves in 34 relief appearances with the White Sox this season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder made one rehabilitation appearance with Class AAA Charlotte on July 10 at Louisville (1 ER/1.2 IP).

To make room for Marte on the roster, the White Sox optioned left-handed pitcher Kevin Walker to Charlotte following Sunday's game. Walker was outrighted to Charlotte on Wednesday.

The White Sox 40-man roster now stands at 39

Hopefully, Gload will be next. :pray

screw that i dont wanna trade marte, well be fine into the playoffs and u only need 3 starting pitchers then why trade away one of the best lefty relivers in the game and some of our best prospects for a injury prone starter that we would hardly use in the playoffs

Yes, but now Marte will be traded in a package for AJ Burnett.

Hm...what will be like having AJ Burnett pitching to AJ Pierzynski...

AJ from the stretch...GREAT BLOCK BY AJ ON A BALL IN THE DIRT!@#$@! :D Sounds like it could be fun.

Holy s*** did Marte look good last night.  No one had a chance last night in the batters box.  Everything had tons of movement, and he had plenty of velocity.  Let's hope it lasts.

It was good to see...along with Contreras' performance, it made me not worry about any trades...
