innersanctum
I guess I found this article interesting simply because the Cubs A team (Peoria Chiefs) is in this city. A lot of the article is stuff that has been re-hashed by other journalists but there were a few parts of the article that were noteworthy. Sox are real, and they're spectacular Quote The women at Sox games are every bit as good looking as those at Cubs games. But they don't spend half the game walking back-and-forth in front of you, they're not looking to dump you for the next hot guy that walks by, and they actually understand that when a player gives himself up to bunt a teammate into scoring position this is a good thing. (Female fans, you can reverse the genders in the previous paragraph. The same points apply.) Listen up, Sox fans. On a recent trip to Chicago, I was talking to Cubs second baseman Todd Walker. He had this to say about your angst: "(The White Sox) will probably always be second fiddle to the Cubs, even though they're better. They deserve more credit than they receive, but they probably like flying under the radar if they can win 100 games and cruise into the playoffs." Antonio Osuna
I know a huge Sox fan from Peoria. How he got that way I don't know, but I'll always associate it with him. It's also the city in which my cousin got married.
UofIChiSox
I'm from the Peoria area and a huge Sox fan. It happened because of good ole Sportschannel back in the day before Fox Sports Chicago/Comcast. It sucks. Peoria is basically a Cubs/Cards border town, I was at the mall last weekend, tons of Cubs and Cards stuff, not a Sox Tshirt to be had.
