Guest hotsoxchick1
no freakin way.................first off bobby wouldnt ever be here unless kw was gone...........kw wont have a guy around he cant control.. i can just see the look on his face now when the first time bobby tells him to go f*** himself get out of my clubhouse... kw will s*** his pants and then toss over a few buffet tables .......... i dont take stock in what mike north says because most of its just speculation...........or his wishful scubfan thinking... cwsox
its the SCORE so its likely to be bulls*** and may we all be preserved from Bobby Valentine, who has never won a damn thing in his life and has destroyed some good teams. that would just be the same old same old good old boy network. IF JM goes, we have two great candidates already as Rex Hundler said elsewhere today.

Guest hotsoxchick1
well it will only be good news if kw is ousted.........i honestly do not think that jm needs to go anywhere right at this moment.........send kw packing first and the remainder of the season will fall into place...........promise ya.........if jm is the one who goes and kw stays things are gonna get alot worse before they get better i promise ya......... I can't imagine it would be KW....I mean, I don't like the guy as a GM....and many don't....but you can't fire a guy that did what he did this offseason....regardless of who helped him. He brought in Bartolo Colon(for practically nothing....when you get a guy like Colon for stuff you don't need...that's a great move), fixed a problem in the clubhouse by getting rid of Foulke, brought in Dauback for dirt cheap, brought in Loaiza for dirt cheap, brought in Rios for dirt cheap, got us 3 good guys for the pen in Gordon, White, and Koch(though Koch has been s***ty thus far and has lost a little heat on his fastball). And while getting Koch and getting rid of Foulke are the same thing....in my mind, that's killing two birds with one stone. Manuel, on the other hand....that wouldn't surprise me if he get the boot. He's shown no emotion and the team has taken his point of view on the game. And this team is underachieving yet again. I hope we do bring in Valentine. He's a clown. It would give our team a whole new personality. IMO, he isn't a great coach....but it seems that when his team is winning, his teams are having fun. His teams play with a lot of fire(except for last year when the situation in New York got out of hand and he had too many egos on the team). I'm not sure how to describe Valentine...but, IMO, he brings a lot to the table. And hopefully, if he came in, he'd bring in that NL style of play...where we'd play some small ball. And if he told KW to go f*** himself and KW flipped a few tables and called everyone a b****....that'd be fine with me.
Chisoxfn
Before people rip Bobby V, I'm pretty sure he has a winning record and well if you want to blame him for last years team, take a look at what this years team is doing with another supposedly great manager Art Howe. Plus, Howe has Tom Glavine which should easily make the Mets a better team then last year's group.
Guest hotsoxchick1
bobbys record......... not exactly stellar........... 15 years and never been in first place with his team.....yikes.........no i dont want him here...... 1985 AL West Texas 129 53 76 .411 7 1986 AL West Texas 162 87 75 .537 2 1987 AL West Texas 162 75 87 .463 6 1988 AL West Texas 161 70 91 .435 6 1989 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 4 1990 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 3 1991 AL West Texas 162 85 77 .525 3 1992 AL West Texas 86 45 41 .523 4 1996 NL East NewYorkM 31 12 19 .387 4 1997 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 3 1998 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 2 1999 NL East NewYorkM 163 97 66 .595 2 2000 NL East NewYorkM 162 94 68 .580 NL 2 2001 NL East NewYorkM 162 82 80 .506 3 2002 NL East NewYorkM 161 75 86 .466
Chisoxfn
Remember, no one beat the Braves out in that division in a long time so its a bit misleading.
cwsox
So only once in 15 years has Valentine's record bested JM's best record in 4 years - we don't need that type of change. If we go through the upheaval of a change, lets make it a good one. Backman or Levya. They know the players and are not MLB retreads passed around from team to team. Bighurt52235
What's his career winning percentage? It's gotta be better than Manuel's. I just, in the last couple of days, decided it would be best or Manuel to leave. Not that I think he is horrible, it's just that he is not working. Like Maurice Cheeks, Portland Trail Blazers coach, isn't excactly bad, but I think he'll get canned because he can't take his team to the next level, just like JM. They've both underachieved. Guest hotsoxchick1
Remember, no one beat the Braves out in that division in a long time so its a bit misleading. nothing misleading about that..............numbers dont lie now.......he hasnt even matched jm's record in 4 years..you want that to be your replacement..........nope i dont........... whitesox247
I think Bobby V would be a pretty good manager for us. Lots of experience, a funny guy, he could fire it up. If my calculations are correct, hes a 1117-1072 lifetime manager?

cwsox
Valentine's again Year League Team G W L WP Finish +----+-----------+--------+-----+----+----+------+------+ 1985 AL West Texas 129 53 76 .411 7 1986 AL West Texas 162 87 75 .537 2 1987 AL West Texas 162 75 87 .463 6 1988 AL West Texas 161 70 91 .435 6 1989 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 4 1990 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 3 1991 AL West Texas 162 85 77 .525 3 1992 AL West Texas 86 45 41 .523 4 1996 NL East NewYorkM 31 12 19 .387 4 1997 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 3 1998 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 2 1999 NL East NewYorkM 163 97 66 .595 2 2000 NL East NewYorkM 162 94 68 .580 NL 2 2001 NL East NewYorkM 162 82 80 .506 3 2002 NL East NewYorkM 161 75 86 .466 5 +----+-----------+--------+-----+----+----+------+------+ NewYorkM 1003 536 467 .534 Texas 1186 581 605 .490 +----+-----------+--------+-----+----+----+------+------+ TOTAL 2189 1117 1072 .510 so in other words, JM's winning % is better than Valentine's - it is simple math - you want to make a change from JM to someone with a lesser record? And if you want to argue that 512 and 510 are almost the same, then why make a sheer lateral move for a man whose never won a division title in his life - which at least JM has? If you make a change, go for something real, not the tired and old and with a lesser record to boot.
