There were talks but nothing came of it because the Twins veiw him as a 'rent a player' because he is arbitration eligiable next year which means he can cash in over 10 million dollars, which the Twins would never do. The Twins strategy is not to trade prospects for a rent a player I say BLEH to that. The Twins need a second baseman (Boone isnt the answer) Soriano is a 30-30 type of guy. And a team can always work on someones defense. The Twins have turned Justin Morneau into a below average feilder into a pretty decent fielder (hitting is a different story) Trade for him, sign him to a long term deal and finally has some fear into a lineup Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
