Jim Fainter
I have never been a fan of pitchers yelling at managers when they are removed from the game, especially when it's right out in the open. If you show up the manager, you show up the whole team. Same rule applies to any position, but it is much more obvious when the pitcher is given the hook. I didn't see the Koch tirade from Thursday night, but from the reports, I can pretty well visualize it. Now that it has happened, I would love to know what went on in the clubhouse afterward, whether or not coaches intervened, etc. The manager has to be the boss, end of story. There were two incidents last year (Milwaukee, Tampa) when the pitcher openly challenged the manager, and both times the skipper got right in the pitcher's face(s). If anybody gets any inside dope on what happened behind the scenes, I would love to hear about it.
Rex Kickass
Well... I was a Koch fan. Maybe we can send him to Boston?
whitesox247
Just throwing this out there.... Koch for Jonny Damon? That would be beneficial to both clubs.
aboz56
Just throwing this out there.... Koch for Jonny Damon? That would be beneficial to both clubs. How would it benefit Boston? They'd have no leadoff hitter and a s***ty closer.
whitesox247
I think they're just about dying for a proven closer.
aboz56
I think they're just about dying for a proven closer. If they want a proven closer, they won't be trading for Botch. More likely would be Billy Wagner, who is a FA after this season and the Astros have Dotel or Lidge who are both good enough to close right now. greg775
They might trade for him. When players leave our team, the jinx is off and they do better.

IlliniKrush
Well, word has it they will give Robert Person the chance to close when he is finally healthy, which is real soon, and the committee might disappear if he is successful.
IlliniKrush
Oh and also i don't know why you need damon when you'll have Borchard up here soon enough anyway? Do you want to block the door for him?
CubKilla
Oh and also i don't know why you need damon when you'll have Borchard up here soon enough anyway? Do you want to block the door for him? Maybe he just wants to get rid of Botch
elrockinMT
At this point I would just settle for our players showing the same hustle and determination the Damon shows in Boston. Hopefully they will get on track soon. We need a good winning streak and that will make us all happy.
