Huge Sox blockbuster trade???

Thats easy

Joe Crede, Juan Uribe, Shingo, Timo for Reyes, Wright, Floyd

We just have to tell the Mets that Beltran is not going to play unless they get another Boras client in Joe Crede, and then Beltran needs 2 friends in Uribe and Timo, because we know they are a positive influence on the latin players.

And as for Shingo, he will be the Mets new closer and make Kaz Matsui learn how to field.

It really is just a phone call away.

Do you guys think the Blue Jays forgot the whole David Wells for Mike Sirotka mess? KW really screwed Toronto there. (even though Wells sucked ass for us). I like this trade possibilty BUT i'm not sure if Toronto will work out another trade with us?

I don't believe that'd be a problem. Gord Ash is long gone from Toronto, entirely new regime up there.

Gives us a guy who can play 1b and 3rd base giving both Joe and Pauly a legit back-up.. Unless you loike Timo at 1st?

That's yesterdays news. Everyone who wished so hard for Ross Gload to be up here got their wish. Frank is back on the DL, we have our backup 1B now. On to the next "crisis"

I just want some pitching. Right now the rotation of MB, Garland, Freddy and El Duque looks good in the playoffs, but is a question mark down the stretch. Not to mention our bullpen is going to get worn out if we keep using the same guys every day over and over. I really think we need to address any and all pitching needs before we go for a bat.

What if he pulls the ball his first three at-bats?

Ross is a line drive hitter. Unlike Paully Pull Baseball. Ross hits the ball to all fields. He hits like AJ used to before Greg worked on his swing with him.

Maybe that is the reason they didnt want him up, he rejects our hitting instructors silly notions of being pull monkeys will low BA and low OBP.

Ross

That was with their old GM Gord Ash. Im sure JP would have no problems.

Seriously AJ needs to stop pulling everything.  His power alley is in left center.

Everyone says its not our hitting instructor that is telling them to pull the ball more. For me AJ is his most damning example.

A career .288 hitter who is well known as being an all fields hitter. He comes to the sox, has a cup of Joe with Greg. They work on his swing a bit in spring training.

Mid season we have great power numbers. Success

But oddly a low BA for a good hitter. A guy who is well known as a good hitting catcher.

But then again maybe its not Greg telling him to pull the ball like the rest of the team. Maybe its swamp gas.

But we are thirty some games over .500 so you have to love him.

Hell yeah I'd do this trade if Konerko is in there.  Contreras for Ted Lilly.  We get a lefty who is better and cheaper.  Hillenbrand could replace Konerko.  He plays first and third and is hitting .297. :headbang AND basically Shingo and a prospect for Batista

I don't see why ANYONE would want to give up Konerko in any deal that doesn't bring in a bat that is better than him. Our offense is not that good and losing Konerko for Hillenbrand only makes it worse. I hope to hell, and I think I'm right on this, Konerko isn't going anywhere this year. If we do land Hillenbrand, he'll be moving back to 3B, and not 1B.

This is inaccurrate. AJ said in an interview that until this year he has hit matbe one or two homers in his career to left or left center.

I know this is a touchy subject but there are guys who are pull hitters and will always be pull hitters. You can't change it. These are guys who teams have used the "shift" against such as Bonds, Thome and to go way back Ted Williams.

I'm not saying its for eveyone but people here have beaten this horse to ashes.

If our pull hitters hit like Bonds or Willliams there would be no complaints. Dead pull hitters that hit .240-.250 are fair game for horse beatings.

Ortiz last nite was the perfect example. He adjusted his swing to go with the pitch and hit a line drive over crede's head. You have to adjust to where you are being pitched. If you don't you end up being Juan Uribe.

I disagree. Konerko is more reliable in the middle of the order than Hillenbrand is.

No he's not. The stats prove it.

Hillenbrand .297 AVG / .360 OBP

runner on .302 AVG / .363 OBP

RISP .281 AVG / .350 OBP

RISP w/ 2 out .261 AVG / .378 OBP

bases loaded .333 AVG / .300 OBP

Konerko .251 AVG / .350 OBP

runner on .241 AVG / .335 OBP

RISP .225 AVG / .346 OBP

RISP w/ 2 out .140 AVG / .283 OBP

bases loaded .429 AVG / .429 OBP

Konerko dominates bases loaded but he only had 7 at bats with the bases juiced. Hillenbrand is a better player. He plays 1st and 3rd. Konerko has 10 HRs more but only 7 more rbi. Allot of his homers are solo and he sucks in the clutch.
