NO WAY.

Thats impossible. Thats nearly the exact same teams in the playoffs.

No way that happen. Way to conservative.

No Offense, but those are the worst predictions I've ever seen. I'm not trying to mean.

ding ding ding

Our defense was strong last year with Urlacher, Azumah, Ogunleye, and Tillman all battling injuries.

An OLine with Tait-Brown-Kreutz-Garza-Miller>>>>>>the s*** trotted out last year next to Kreutz and injured Tait and Brown.

Im just trying to not get my hopes up.

I dont think that line will stay healthy unfortunately. :(

I love our defense though.

Vikings will be worse.

No Moss + No Linehan = 0 Offensive Production.  They cannot succeed without those 2 offensively.  Williamson is no Moss.

On Paper, the Vikings D is pretty good looking.  WRONG.

Pat Williams cant play more than 2 plays in a row, he's out of shape no matter what.  The LB corps still is trash, even with Nap Harris on the Outside.  Sam Cowart in the middle is gross.  The DE's are young, and could be good, Udeze and James got serious upside; but James specifically has injury problems.  Depth at DL on that team thought is amazing.

Kevin Williams is probably the best defensive player in the division minus Urlacher.

The thing thats terrible is the secondary.  Maybe the worst in football.  Smoot was tied the most burned CB in the NFL (Cleveland CB Gary Baxter was the other).  Winfield is the best run support CB in football and decent in coverage.  Barring Williams and C-Pep he's the best player on that team.  Darren Sharper?  LOL.  Puh-leeeze.

The Lions will win this division because Harrington cannot go wrong with those WR's.  The Bears will make the Wild Card, b/c the balance of power between the AFC and NFC didnt change this offseason.  The NFC still blows.

Tice has promised they'll be more of a running team this season anyway, and they do have Culpepper at QB, he's always getting better, so I think they'll still be fine on offense.

Pat Williams is one of the best run stuffing DT's in the whole league. That's why they signed him, they don't want him on the field on third down, they've got Kevin Williams, Udeze etc. to take care of the pass rushing.

No matter how bad the Vikings LB'ers and DB's were last season, there's no way they can be that bad again this season. Hence why I think the Vikes have upgraded on D. No matter how bad Smoot got burned for the Skins last season, he'll be better than anyone they put out beside Antonio Winifield last season.

I like smoot I dont think he got burned that much I thought he did a pretty damn good job. The redskins defense was awesome it was their offense that was pitiful. And Smoot was a big part of that defense.

Vikings I think arent much different than last year. Yes they got better defensively but just the same they got worse on offense. Randy Moss although is a distraction is arguably the best WR in the league currently and losing him will hurt a lot more than people think.

With your AFC Wild Card picks, I was thinking the same thing but then I quickly realized that both are AFC West teams. I just don't think it's very likely anymore to have both Wild Card teams from the same division. It was cool to see the NFC Central get all 3 Wild Cards twice though.

Didn't even see it there.

I'm thinking Panthers and Ravens--maybe even the Jags.  How about you? :D

For sure Baltimore...if Boller can be average, they are a playoff team. I also like Buffalo, if they can overcome some of their holes defensively, or Jacksonville. Not a huge fan of any team in the AFC West quite frankly, though San Diego is a solid team as well. Sonix got a little riled up about people still having KC in 3rd place...personally, I see them either being a very solid team, potentially being a 10-12 win team, or I view them being mediocre to bad again, with 6 to 8 wins. Derrick Johnson was only like my boy during the weeks prior to the draft, so I have to like their defense a little bit, if not just because of him.

In the NFC, Carolina and Dallas seem to be safe predictions to me...though quite frankly I could see a lot of teams being the Wild Card. Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, and even teams like Washington, Green Bay, and Arizona, to me, appear to have an outside shot.

I still think Dallas' QB situation will keep them out of the playoffs and they will end up around 7-9/8-8. I also believe that the Ravens and the Patriots will be the class of the AFC. The Steelers have a chance to join them if Ben can duplicate his rookie season, which isn't out of line to ask for.

As for the NFC, I think too many people are overlooking Carolina. They were an average team even with an amazing amount of injuries. Just getting Kris Jenkins, Steve Smith and Stephen Davis back will be a huge boost. Not to mention Keary Colbert's emergence at WR to compliment Smith and Ricky Proehl. Taylor Stubblefield has a perfect situation to learn under Ricky. Freddie Jones was a great pick-up at the TE position to help take some slack off of losing Muhammed. The defense will be extremely fast with Morgan, Thomas Davis, Julius and company roaming the field. I also LOVE the pick-up of Ken Lucas. Heck even the backups have tons of speed, Isaac Hilton is a freak of nature as a backup DE.

The thing with Carolina is they missed Jenkins pretty much all year, same with Smith. Also, Rucker too had a down year. With all of them healthy again, their defense is extremely solid, even with the loss of Fields. Colbert makes up for the loss of Muhammad and if Stephen Davis isnt 100% they have DeShaun Foster and a decent rookie (whose name i forget, out of Maryland i believe) backing him up. and now they have their Super Bowl team back almost in full, but now with more experience. While I dont think they'll make the Super Bowl, I have to consider them potential Super Bowl contenders.

Ya, I'm probably biased, but I see them as an 11 or 12 win team. And most people dont realize that they'll have 5-7 new defensive starters this year. SD is a good team but i really dont see Oakland doing anything in the West and the Broncos I dont think are as good as last year

NFC NORTH

1. Packers

2. Vikings (WC)

3. Lions

4. Bears

Pack always find a way to get it done and viks defense has improved dramatically, therefore both make the playoffs. The bears and lions are just laughable, improved but not good enough.

NFC EAST

1. Eagles

2. Cowboys

3. Redskins

4. Giants

Eagles will wipe everyone out. Eli manning wont do s*** with his o-line and redskins blow.

NFC West

1. Seahawks

2. Cardinals

3. Rams

4. 49ers

Seahawks will runaway with this one, cards have improved a lot and kurt warner should help their QBs (give them experience), not to mention their defense got better.

NFC SOUTH

1. Panthers

2. Falcons (WC)

3. Saints

4. Bucs

Panthers defense can stop vick and derail the falcons but both will still move on, saints will once again choke.

NFC CHAMP: Eagles

AFC NORTH

1. Steelers

2. Ravens (WC)

3. Bengals

4. Browns

By far the toughest division in my mind, all teams have improved in some way, steelers and ravens are too good though.

AFC EAST

1. Patriots

2. Jets

3. Bills

4. Dolphins

Must i explain, its been like this forever.

AFC WEST

1. Chiefs

2. San Diego(WC)

3. Denver

4. Oakland

Chiefs defense has improved the most over the offseason besides the viks, and denver cant win with half of clevelands team.

AFC SOUTH

1. Colts

2. Jacksonville

3. Texans

4. Titans

None of the following can score as much as peyton manning, enough said.

AFC CHAMP: Chiefs

SUPERBOWL: Eagles 34 Chiefs 31

Reasoning:

Eagles are too good for anyone else in the NFC North and didnt lose alot of their team in the offseason like the pats, and therefore my superbowl champs.

Chiefs have added kendrell bell pat surtain and others to help their defense, young and talented and can withhold the colts to got to the superbowl.

If Rex Grossman and the O-Line remain healthy this year. The Bears will make the playoffs with their weak schedule.

Chiefs probably won't be the best team in their own division, let alone the AFC. Did you watch them at all last year?

no priest holmes last year let me remind you, they added ashley ambrose kendrell bell carlos hall (derrick johnson out of the draft) freddie mitchell patrick surtain

I just feel those seem like big IF's. I can potentially see the Bears as high as second in the division with an 8-8 record. But I have an inkling that the Lions may finally put it together this year, as one of those QB's will have a solid season. I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see Garcia starting and having a big season at some point.

Excellent post. Simply put, there are far too many if's with the Bears. Grossman has played in...what...five NFL games? We don't know dick about this kid. Period--and I've watched/scouted him since his senior year in high school. The kid put up crazy numbers in the run n' gun, but we don't know if he can cut it at the professional level. Anyone else who says otherwise is simply speculating.

I'm not a bettin' man, but if I was, I'd say the Lions end up with more W's than our belov'ed Bears.

Vikings? You're kidding right? Vikings?!

they added Fred Smoot, Darren Sharper, and Napolean Harris to their D, and their D-Line is pretty solid. Culpepper won't post any numbers like last year, but the Vikings won't have to rely soly on offense anymore.

8-8 sounds about right for the Bears, they got a weak scheduele, but they're a few years away from not being a weak team, because they have major problems on the O-Line and receiving corps.
