fathom
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) You're right, just use clement as an example. Oh.....nevermind. We sure rocked Clement. On a night where he had nothing, we torched him for 4 runs in 6 innings.
Rowand44
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) I couldn't disagree more. Even in a so-called down year, his OPS is still one of the best in the NL. I truly believe that on the proper team, his K numbers would diminish. The entire Reds team just swings out of their ass. It's like how Pods had high K numbers with the Brewers last year, when everyone else was swinging out of their ass. I'd take Dunn over any Sox offensive player this season in a second. If Dunn were on this team you'd be complaining like crazy. You don't think Pauly's clutch? Wait till you get a look at Dunn. OBP is great and all you gotta be able to hit your way on base at times. CYGarland
QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Everett or Konerko, face it guys our run producers are pretty bad.. Konerko , Everett and Rowand. manny and Ortiz alone have more Rbi than them 3! Sigh... never been a Konerko or Rowand fan and Everett just to damn old and we gave away 5 minor leaguers in 2 diff. trades to get him ? Sorry but we do not have a legitimate #3 hitter on this team. Frank is more of a #4 and PK, Everett, Rowand and Dye are 5 or 6's, IMO. Up till this point it hasn't mattered, but come postseason it does worry me Edited July 24, 2005 by CYGarland

I can handle him making 1 mistake . All I want to see is him go 6-7 innings with minimal damage and he looks like he's gonna get it done.
Rowand44
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:05 PM) We sure rocked Clement. On a night where he had nothing, we torched him for 4 runs in 6 innings. Here's what I don't get, if Clement the ace of the Red Sox staff has an off night we should rock him but if a mediocre pitcher has a great night we should still rock him. Baseball doesn't work like that.

Frank is more of a #4 and PK, Everett, Rowand and Dye are 5 or 6's, IMO. A couple of days ago, I made the recommendation that KW should screw going after a starting pitcher or reliever, and try to make a deal for a number 3 hitter. Baseball doesn't work like that. If I see any pitcher on the mound who looks to be sharp, I won't have a problem if the Sox aren't scoring. However, when I see a guy with nothing on the mound (like Miller tonight), I'll get pissed if the offense can't put some runs on the board. Cerbaho-WG
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) Ya, he got it earlier this year. He's ridiculously over-rated in my book. Except that his OPS w/ RISP .943. And he's 25. Did I mention his OPS is .968 and he's hitting .246? Adam Dunn is probably the most underrated young outfielders in all of baseball, period. fathom
Get Timo out of this f***ing line-up. Nothing like seeing your RF trying to bunt a 2-1 pitch with a runner on base.

He has no business not being scored upon at this time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agree, the failure in the 3rd inning was bad. He made some good pitches but both Everett and Konerko weren't ready for those 1st pitch cookies. Attack when a strike is thrown.
