I have the SAT tomorrow

Took it last year (freshman year). It was low in comparison to my ACT scores as an eighth grader.

SAT: 1180

Verbal: 570

Math: 610

Ooh, just found my ACT sheet:

English: 25 81st percentile

?Usage: 14 87%

?Rhet. Skills: 12 74%

Math:24 76%

?Pre-Al: 13 76%

?Alg. 12 78%

?Trig: 13 82%

Science: 28 95%

Reading: 31 93%

?Soc. St/Sci: 17 97%

?Arts/Lit: 15 85%

Overall: 27 90%

I thought the SAT's were easier, but I only got like 70th percentile for out-going seniors on that. I'm guessing it's cause I only skipped a few problems that I didn't know.

Probably more than you ever wanted to know about me. :)

Good luck though! :headbang

If you don't know the answer, just put C, haha.

No, teachers have caught on, the answer is now B.

I got a 29 on the ACT both times i took it with different scores in different areas each time. If i could have combined them i would have gotten a 32

I have a friend that got a 36 on the ACT...TWICE. He had to take it for the prairie state exam also, hence the twice thing.

Good luck and remember to pace yourself.

We didn't have to take the SAT, but I did get a 27 on the ACT.

Damned standardized tests only reflecting one part of a person's intelligence. (I am a strong advocate against teaching for one test and allowing one test to have so much of an impact on a person's college availabilities)

You're SAT score is good. I also think you have a point about standardized tests. You have to set standards, but there must be flexibility. Some bright people are not good standardized test takers. Studies have shown that high school grades are a better predictor of college success than SAT and ACT tests. Also females score lower on the SAT ( in the ACT it's almost dead even ) but get better grades in college. A good admissions office will take all factors into consideration. I mostly agree with you on this and like I said 27 is a good score. Perhaps you got 29, 30 or above on one of the four sections? Admissions counselors, at least the good ones are taught to pay attention to a students strong points in the ACT or SAT.

I tried it when I was 16 even though I can't afford U.S. college. 1250, think I could do better if I'd studied or tried again, but it was a neat experiance, too bad I drink and piss away my years now. Hope I and everyone else find whatever it is we are looking for.
