danman31
QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) Clayton Richard injured or something? It's possible with the large workload from a college season they want to give him a break. He's proven he can handle rookie ball hitters. The Sox probably don't want to pitch him too much. Right now the Sox have 3 teams in first place. The Barons at 16-9 have a 2 game lead. The Warthogs at 14-13 lead by a mere 1/2 game. Finally, Kanny is looking for their first playoff appearance...they lead their 8 team division by 3.5 games with a 17-10 record. BHAMBARONS
Barons 11 Huntsville 5 W-Honel L-Sarfate Sv- Meaux Hitting shoes were on in this game newcomer Tommy Nicholson had 3 hits and 3 Driven in on base 4 times. Nicholson also made a huge defensive stop with bases loaded 2 outs in the 7th where he dove blocked the ball and threw from RF to nail Brad Nelson and hold the lead for Honel. Rogo had a pair of doubles one to LF gap the other down the RF line he also just missed a 3rd double on a fine running catch in the gap. Jerry Owens was 3-4 on base 4 times drove in a pair of runs the last on a bases loaded walk. Ryan Sweeney also had a pair of hits all Barons had great looking AB's today hitting the ball hard. Kris Honel was outstanding today going 6+ after the 1st his command was great and only 3 hits from the end of the 1st to when he departed in the 7th outstanding job. BlackBetsy
QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Very, very nice to see Honel pitching well again recently Agreed. Once I heard that he hit 91 last week on the gun, I figured that his arm problems had finally begun to resolve themselves. Remember - this kid is still pretty young and could have a pretty good career. If he can get his velocity back and get his command back, it's like having a second 1st round pick this year.
