Rex Kickass
I am more and more convinced that Musharraf is playing both sides. Which might explain why A.Q. Khan is still being coddled by the Pakistani government.
LowerCaseRepublican
QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) I am more and more convinced that Musharraf is playing both sides. Which might explain why A.Q. Khan is still being coddled by the Pakistani government. He is kinda forced to play both sides. He doesn't want to be on the wrong side of an economic/military powerhouse like the US but at the same time he's gotta pander to the Pakistani military since they put him in power. Plus there is a lot of support within the military for the values put forth by the Taliban (in regards to gender roles, etc.) so he's gotta pander to the military as well. Musharaff is trying to balance himself on the head of a pin these days. He's already nearly been assassinated twice from the islamo-fascists that inhabit that country because of the support he's given the US and he's still hearing it from us that he needs to do more of this and more of that. We need to be careful how we handle this guy because if he falls I shudder to think what kind of a nut would take over and oh, by the way, they have nuclear weapons. Rex Kickass
I think if he started to open his government to limited popular sovereignty, he'd find secularity would win.
