Guest JimH
I will handle the task tonite. Charlotte wins 7-3, Anderson with two hits and Joe Borchard goes 3-5 with 3 rbi's, he is now hitting .260. Box: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...chraaa_syraaa_1 Birmingham off, Winston-Salem gets spanked 8-2. Schnurstein 2-4 and Gio Gonzalez with his first off outing in quite a while: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...lynafx_wswafx_1 Kannapolis scores 5 in the first inning but that's all they get and they lose 9-5. Donny Lucy and Chris Getz each with two hits. Box: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...kanafx_hicafx_1 Great Falls loses 4-2, Francisco Hernandez 0-4, he's at .280. CWSGuy406
Time to move Getz up, eh? Seems like he's two-fer every night (at least), as well as walking. Munoz got a little lucky tonight. Only gave up three runs, but allowed 13 baserunners. Eight hits, five BBs. Hopefully Gio can bounce back in his next start.
ChiSox_Sonix
Another good thing about being so far up in the standings is we can call up Borch in September and get him some PT and if he can somehow continue playing like he has the past couple months he might be able to rise his trade value some this offseason
DBAHO
That's probably the 1st time this season Gio's had more BB's than K's in an outing.
OilCan
Two things: 1. Safe to say that it's good that Gio is taking some small lumps now to help him learn for the future. He may stuggle a bit as a 19-20 yr old in High A, but hey, if the top brass feels confident that he can hang, I have no problem with him learning on the job. 2. Joe Borchard again. Don't call it a comeback. Keep it up Joe!
