I thought Adam Loewen was still in Draft and Follow phase. O's gave up on him? Would be great to see him slide to 15, but I doubt it will happen.

My guess is that is why there is an asterisk by the Orioles name. The O's still can sign him up to a week before the draft since he went to a JUCO and not a four-year school.

you are right about the week and about him not being there.

what gets me is the amount of pitchers avail and the lack of position. so do we draft best avail, which will prob be a pit or go for a positional player.

Go for best available. If a solid position player is there in the high rounds, it might be a good year to go for it, since they have loaded up on arms the past few years. But if there is a better talent at pitcher, take him.

Next year we will draft higher.

I doubt it. If nothing in the GM and/or managerial regime changes, this team will be out of contention in two to three weeks and, come August, when the fire sale begins and the hungry youngsters are brought up, the Sox will make yet another drive to .500..... being mediocre at best and getting a middle-of-the-pack, medicore-just-like-the team is pick.

Seems to be an annual cycle, doesn't it?
