SHAFTR
I know there is still a lot of the season left, but it seems strange that there hasn't been a No-hitter yet this year. I think 2000 was the last time there wasn't a No-hitter that year. 2004: Randy Johnson 2003: Kevin Millwood 2002: Derek Lowe 2001: Hideo Nomo AJ Burnett Bud Smith My point, nearly every year has a No-hitter. 2005 hasn't had one yet. Benchwarmerjim
I was thinking about that over the weekend. Odd I am feeling that the first one this year will be thrown by some pitcher you never heard of

DukeNukeEm
Rich Harden was REALLY close. Im betting some pitcher gets a fluke game and just mows em down.
Kalapse
I'm thinking a guy like John Patterson could pull it off. Kind of a no name with really good stuff.

Kind of a no name with really good stuff. I feel really sorry for that guy. 19 starts and only six decisions with a 4-2 record and an extremely nice era 2.58 and whip 1.19.....with 107 k's in 111 innings. :headshake
santo=dorf
The Sox had a one hitter thrown against them this year. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws Edited July 28, 2005 by santo=dorf

Al Lopez Ghost (old)
I believe that there's an inordinate amount of nohitters in September. Combination of minor league callups in the lineup, guys no bearing down if they're out of the race, whatever. I remember the Sox being no hit by Mike Warren, the Sox throwing no hitters like Joe Cowley's (his last major league win, I think), and a combo with I want to say Blue Moon Odom and Frankie Barrios. I think we will see one in September.

I think we will see one in September. That combo you talk about reminds me of Houston in I think 2003. Oswalt was out of the game after 4 with an injury, not allowing a hit, and the Houston bullpen kept the Yankees offense at bay the rest of the game, not allowing a hit. And then I remember the Yankees winning like 47 in a row after that. EDIT: Looked it up. I lose. Oswalt left after 1 June 11, 2003 - Astros 8, Yankees 0 Edited July 28, 2005 by witesoxfan
