Greg Hibbard
QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) My guess is that we stand pat. If that happens, that really sucks.
JUGGERNAUT
A Philadelphia columnist wrote today that the White Sox are likely to be the biggest buyers. If there are any buyers the White Sox are sure to be amongst them. If we do stand pat consider this. We may have 35 L's but only 12 of them have occured in games when the White Sox do NOT commit an error. We compiled the best record in baseball when the team was hitting below or slightly above .250. The past two months it's hitting slightly above .270. When you consider Thomas' avg the everyday players are hitting better than that. So when you combine rising hitting, with solid defense, & solid pitching few teams can beat us & they have to play their very best game to do it. In most cases we can only beat ourselves. See the last KC series as evidence of that. We are not good enough to overcome errors. We don't have that kind of firepower. So we have to play Ozzie ball to win. thomsonmi
Relax folks. The Angels have lost four in a row themselves. It's a long season and these things happen. KW cannot panic.
Balance
I think injuries were the story of 2000, and the relative lack of pitching and defense. I feel a lot better about this year's pitching and defense. However, especially with Frank's injury, I would like to see the Sox add another quality bat. But they're few and far between....
