Thomas done for the year

He and Robin were the 2 that made me a Sox fan

I still have a poster on my wall from the mid-90's of Frank and Robin, both in mid-swing, blown up in front of the Sears Tower. It kicks ass. I sincerely hope Frank is able to make it back, because I'd hate for him to go out like this.

I used to have that poster. I wish I would have kept it.

Thank you Big Man for all the memories.....When I look back at my childhood summers you were always there. I for one see this as a retirement, thats what I am going to treat it like.....

Move over Greg Walker....its Franks job now

Anybody see the White Sox buying out his contract. I mean he's a good player when healthy and he puts fear into the opposing pitcher. We want him to retire with the White Sox and spend his whole career here...BUT he gets injured way too much and this injury will not go away.

Here's the lead...Sorry if this has been posted

Someone told me that Offman reported that the Sox would buyout his contract but he's not sure if the Sox will make him a new offer.

There is no doubt in my mind they will buy him out. I was about 95% sure before, now it is 100% for sure.

Assuming his home run pace went down somewhat, and his batting average went up somewhat, as was likely to happen, that keeps his OPS in the mid .900 range, or 100 points better than Pauly and 200 points better than Everett. Also, according to Baseball Prospectus Frank was the most valuable White Sox hitter on a per game basis this season, even with his sagging batting average (which is an overrated stat, to be sure).

Agree 100%.

Also agree with your thoughts on Dunn. Everyone focuses on the K's. No one focuses on his ability to get on base at a .380 clip, or his ability to hit for awesome power.

What a surprise, he is done for the year.

Hopefully this is the last time we have to count on him to be productive.

He is clearly past his prime and will struggle to stay healthy, if he even plays again.

I love BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, but can someone please smack the s***e out of him for leaking that Frank was done for the year. Now every team knows we desperatly need a big bat. He single handedly drove up the asking price for any kind of bat on the market. Sometimes theres things you have to keep to yourself Bruce, and Corey Patterson still blows.

The Sox most likely were going to announce this anyway, I don't think blaming Bruce Levine is exactly fair. Plus, I don't really think the price went up, we still have Everett who has actually been more productive than Frank this season.

Sorry, but a .759 out of the three spot doesn't thrill me...

That's ignorant. He has been more productive in terms of cumulative stats, sure, but he's also played in 46 more games than Frank. As far as overall, per game production, Frank has been the far superior player.

I really don't think Bruce leaking it will have any effect on the market. It's not like this is really surprising. At the very least, we knew that Frank would be out a while. I think our need for a hitter is just as apparent today as it was yesterday.

Frank hit a s*** load of HRs in a small amount of time but also struck out a lot and failed to get the runner over in crucial situations. He was all or nothing in his time back. He contributed but not as much as people think he did.

I feel bad for Frank but he has been pretty bad this year and I think for now we're better with Carl as the dh. However, Kenny you got some work to do. I liked having Carl off the bench and being able to fill in when needed, that just made this team so deep.
