Griffey

After this year chances are Frank and Konerko are off of the books at their current prices. If you take on the salary he could had realitvely easily I would assume.

Our bench Widger,Ozuna, Gload, Harris, Perez is embarrasing.

McCarthy, Harris and Vizcaino??????

After realizing Frank isn't coming back, we really need a bat if not two.

Widger, Harris and Gload are not major league hitters and I am not too sure about Perez or Ozuna either.

His contract runs through 2025, no thanks.

Come on with Julio Cruz off the books (well at least in 2001) we have done it before.

Look at the guys on the bench....

All you are mortgaging is the long-term cash you would give to Konerko or Thomas.

He would be a splash.

The Reds said they arent trading Griffey

I don't care what they said, there's no way that the Reds are not shopping Griffey. He can do nothing for that team. They won't be competitive for at least 3 years, so what's the point of having an aging player on the team that will likely be hardly worth anything when they can eventually compete?

Todd Helton?

I know he's hurt right now but he expects to be back soon. With the Rockies shedding players like its going out of style, would this ever work for the Sox?

NO!, steroids + Coors = a very good hitter. He has a nice big juicy contract too.

Helton has said that he doesn't want to be traded and wants to be a part of the rebuilding process in Colorado. He's their marquee player who's starting to hit better. No way they trade a guy who actually wants to stay there while his value is so low.

Griffey ain't coming here. He's a running-out-a-groundball, snapping-a-hamstring, injury waiting to happen. Not to mention his insane contract. The Reds will be asking for the Charlotte and Birmingham pitching staffs as well as Garland and Buerhle for him, too.

Not happening.

Helton didn't do steroids. And if you're going to say "Look at this year!" as an example, look at this months splits.

Actually I'm not going by stats, I'm going by personal feelings and what I've heard from credible sources.

From credible sources? The same credible source that had to issue an embarressing public apology and still may get sued by Helton because of what he said? If you still believe that he was on steroids after what happened to that dumb ass announcer in the beginning of the year then you are a fool.

The reds are just trying to get his price higher. Trust me the reds would love to open up his money. Ken Griffey is not a good fit for them they need to open up there money and start over like they do every year sooner or later theyll get it right.

That dumb f*** from the St Lous broadcasting team is not a credible source, I'm talking about people that I happen to talk to who know him. That's it.

Then I belive either you are a liar or the people you know are liars because he would have never received a public appology from that guy in St. Louis if it was even close to being true. Helton was IRATE when he heard this stuff. He was more pissed off than Bo Jackson when someone said something about him.

I seriously don't care what Helton said publicly, if he was irrate or not. I never claim to have any sources ever, so I seriously would have no reason to lie about it. And as for the people I've heard it from, I highly doubt they would make some s*** up like that. I'm not one to go around claiming inside information and I have no need to make up something as petty as this.

Are you serious? They'd probably take Rowand for him straight up just so they can get that contract off the books. It wouldnt surprise me if they put him on waivers after the season.

It's been how many years since Griffey was able to play a full season?  (Serious question as when I looked it up, it looked like it's been about 5 years - not sure if that info was accurate or not.)

It would be 2000, seeing how that was the last time he had 500 ABs. Interesting enough that was his first season with the Reds.
