fathom
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 07:49 AM) Since Manny's most likely staying put, Huff's probably the best player possibly out there. Huff and Soriano.
Bubba Philips
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) An official statement from both teams. Considering what time it is right now, it would likely be done in the morning. How often do you see trades completed at 3:20AM EST? Maybe shingo
SoxFan562004
If the Sox get Blum his nickname should be "the heating-pad" because I think the reason KW would get him is so Crede can rest his back more often and not have Ozuna attempt to play 3b
Guest JimH
Padres official site says the following, after the Miguel Olivo trade announcement: "After announcing the deal for the 27-year-old Olivo, who caught regularly for the White Sox in 2003, Padres general manager Kevin Towers indicated his club could have another deal done by the trade deadline on Sunday afternoon but it would not be a major swap." Certainly lends credence to this rumor. Also remember Blum played in Tampa and they liked him there, is it possible he gets moved twice today, maybe as a piece for Huff? That funky motion
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Yeah, I was shocked how people on here were upset that the Red Sox might get Huff. Especially after Manny kicked our ass last weekend, I'd be thrilled to see him gone. And that great defence. :sleep

I have been listening all morning.
AngelasDaddy0427
Maybe the deal will be Blum and Olivo.... Gives us a backup catcher with a better arm then Widger... Maybe they got him at KW's request...

Yeah, lets get rid of Widger as the backup. What a great idea!!!

AddisonStSox
If it means Thug-Life Willie Harris is off the 25 man roster...why the worries? I bring this one out from time to time:

I bring this one out from time to time: haah yeah im sure this is just because they might either be trading willie, as george offman said would happen by the deadline, or hes just gonna bump willie to charlotte. either way i think the reaosn many people are disappointed is that they are expecting a bigger deal and are hoping this aint the only deal that happens

Ozzie and the pitchers hated Olivo. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I have a feeling the new testing in baseball hurt Olivo.
