I like him as much as Overbay and the nice thing is he could also slide to 3rd if Crede went down. My guess is the Dbacks would want bullpen help. Gerut's not exactly a young player anymore. His bat speed is awful now, and he's a step slower than he was before the injury. I'll be shocked if he's ever an average MLB hitter again. The Red Sox, Yankees, Angels, Athletics and Twins did almost nothing to improve themselves. I would have liked a move if it was out there, but since it wasn't, its nice that the other World Series contenders didn't make major improvements either. Someone else would of heard it plus it wouldn't be for a PTBNL. Chad Tracy is someone that would cost some decent prospects and maybe even a major league reliever.
