DonkeyKongerko
I never root against the White Sox but I might make an exception for one game just so Kenny, Jerry, et. al can get embarassed on national television. I hope JM gets fired after tonight's game, how's that for a statement?

Bmr31
If there's any chance Manuel gets fired after a loss tonight, for all intents and purposes, go away rain!!!! I just have a bad feeling on this. I think it would just be too good to be true, to hope for Manuel to get fired. s*** anyone can do as well as this guy.

Cerbaho-WG
A true fan can hope the Sox lose, with exceptions. Say you're a Cavs fan, and assume for a moment that the NBA Lottery doesn't exist. Do you root for your team to lose and get LeBron, or win and then get Darko, and lose their chances of getting LeBron. If Manuel would get fired if the Sox got slaughtered again, of course I'd be hoping they'd get annihilated. Is it going to happen? No way. IlliniKrush
I've NEVER rooted against my favorite team in any sport, and I never will. How sad that some of you would and apparently have. Cerbaho got it right on the dot. I was rooting against the Bears at the end of this year in order to get a better draft pick. Think about this...the season is over, bears aren't going to the playoffs. Is there any difference between going 3-13, 4-12, or 5-11? Is there? There sure isn't, except for one thing, draft position. One win to get to 5 wins in a season as opposed to 4 isn't going to do anything for me. I'll be happy after the game for about 5 minutes, maybe...then i'll realize it's hurting our draft position. This season is over. So you must consider what is better for the future of this team. That would be losing the game...who cares if you win one more damn game. You are still rooting for your team by rooting for their future as opposed to the present which has absolutely no hope. Therefore, if one thought that with a different manager than Manuel, this team could go places, then rooting for them to lose if Manuel would be fired is still rooting for your team. If one is convinced that the sox will NEVER win with manuel, then rooting against them for one game, or however long, would be beneficial to the future. You are still rooting for your team. I don't buy your argument of "never ever rooting against your team." It just doesn't hold any ground, and it's an immature statement. Cerbaho-WG
Look at it this way: If the Sox would lose Manuel, would they be better off in the longrun? Hell, even the shortterm, as well. Duh, yes! I'm rooting against them so they could become better overall. That, and I wouldn't have to listen to Jerry bulls*** every question he's asked. Jimenez4MVP
Well why dont you just put it a different way insted of saying "Rooting aganst Them" why not just say.. "Hope they realize the teams doing bad because of Manuel and he gets the Axe" so when they do lose you can blame it on him and not have to say you are rooting against the Sox? See what I mean? DonkeyKongerko
See I am thinking in the long term. I know we may win today or we may lose today (or it may rain). I want to win tomorrow and win more often than lose for a while instead of this .500 bullcrap. I have an undying desire for this team to succeed and I know success is more likely to come quicker if JM is forced out sooner. I mean don't we all agree this team is not going anywhere under JM? I don't think we need to have that argument again.
cwsox
by what basis does anyone say that if the Sox lose tonight, smeone gets fired that you want fired - has JR told you that? or EE? No - in your own opinions some should get fired and you think a loss will do t - I very much doubt that JR is reading these boards and being convinced by you. A loss will be another loss and you all are rooting against the Sox bceuse you root against the Sox becuae you have no reason in reality to think that anything will happen with a Sox loss other than we drop under 500. Is it JM's fault Colon is serving gopher balls? Sorry. I cannot respect anyone who roots against the Sox. To do so on the grounds that you just guess that something might happen if we lose, with that guess being based on no reality other than what you want, is as silly as the reasoning.
